Love love love !!! I really love it! really!. Ok....honestly, the only reason I bought this lipbalm at first, just because I saw it in many fashion magazines as well as the cute vintage packaging*haha*. But since its not available everywhere, not so easy to find. I can only dream about it (yeah, always happen to me when I want something really badly). So I was so thrill when six months ago I got the chance to visit Sephora again (oooh...I miss London so much!!) and found this rose-scented lipbalm and I am hooked! Since I wasn't sure its gonna work or just the hype, I only bought one at that time. I was so relieved that they have tester for all scents. I got the "Minted Rose" because I love the fresh smell of mint with rose, and the cool feeling after I put it on. When I got home, I opened right away and totally loving it! first I saw this clear, with rossy color and yummy smells. Then when I touched it, I got the feeling that its gonna be super thick and oily like the usual petrolatum-base lipbalms. I was wrong, it glides easyly on my fingers and didnt feel oily at all. On my llips, feels a bit thick at first, but in few secs, it feels nice and comfortable. Does it work....?? Yes! yes! and Ooohh...yes! I love it as an everyday lipbalm but also love it when I have dry lips when I stayed at an air-conditioned room too long. Just dab it on, and wait for less than 2 minutes, I feel the difference right away!! its rarely happen with my other lipbalms. Really close to my long-time favorite, Kiehls #1 lipbalm. But I like this Smith's Rosebud Salve better because of the lighter texture and the smells....hummm...no contest on that! Anyway, there is 0,8 oz (22g) of product, its gonna last me for a long time. I've used mine everyday, morning and noon, I still have more than a half in it. But, last month when I visited sephora again, I stock up! *humm*. I bought the original and the mocha one just because I like the vintage lady picture in it. I must admit, they really know how to attract women with their vintage tins. I never use it for any other purpose than lipbalm. But I'm really interested on trying it for something else like the other reviewer said. So far, all I did is just mixing it with my lipstick and love the nice and subtle sheen (I'm not a lipgloss kinda girl). Last but not least, slight info from the tin, it made from A Trade Secret blend of essential oils (Aromol), cottonseed oil, in a special petrolatum base with natural and artificial dyes. Made in USA. Should last for 30 moths after opening.
There are two kinds of people in this world, people who use lip balm and people who don't. If you fall into the latter category then read no further. But if you happen to be like me and wouldn't dare step outside the house without it, then Rosebud Salve just might be for you. The Rosebud perfume company was founded in 1895 and Rosebud Salve remains their best selling product. And for good reason. Rosebud salve feels great on your lips, looks great on your lips and comes in a handsome vintage tin. Rosebud salve not only works as a great lipbalm, but it can also be used for many other ailments. My husband had bad razor burn one day and I suggested he try some Rosebud salve. The next thing we knew the razor burn was gone and so was his pain. It was a miracle. And Rosebud salve is a small miracle. The tin I am currently using has lasted me for 15 months and I still have plenty left. I use it every day and would not dare leave the house without it!
I don´t normally go for lipbalms, but the cute 1950s style packaging drew me in! This rose-scented and rose-coloured lipbalm is a bit like rose-scented vaseline, it contains cotton seed oil, borax, aromol and essential oils in a petroleum base (vaseline basically!) Well, if you want something for chapped lips, this is not it! I found that by using this, the condition of my lips actually became worse, and its effectiveness on blemishes is equally useless. I have not tested it´s effectiveness on burns, though I can imagine it´s performance would be of a similar quality. For the price, you would have thought it worked wonders, but you´d be wrong. The only thing it is useful for is smoothing back eyebrows for a sleek well-groomed look, but you can use nearly any lipbalm for that! If you want to spend your money on something good, I would recommend Carmex or Burts Beeswax Lipbalm, not this!
Cab be used for everything from chapped lips to burns
