WHAT IS IT?

A mascara that thickens and lengthens your lashes. It is made by Soap & Glory, a company better known for skincare products than make up.

HOW IT LOOKS

The tube is round and black with a black lid. It is not styled to be beautiful as the Soap & Glory skincare and is very cheap looking, the name of the mascara is in pink block lettering but the pink is dull and has faded since I first used the mascara three months ago.

APPLICATION

The brush is very thick and circular, the bristles do not cover the brush head but are arranged in a spiral with wide gaps between the rows. The brush picks up a lot of mascara because of the gaps and this does not easily wipe off against the tube.

WHAT I THINK

Thick & Fast is quick and easy to apply but you should take your time or you can end up with spidery lashes. The mascara does not clump as you might think its going to when you look at how much mascara is picked up each time you insert the brush into the tube. I use three coats of mascara on my top lashes and two on my lower lashes. The black colour builds up easily and my lashes remain separate with each coat instead of sticking together.

The mascara does make my eyelashes thicker and longer but I think the individual lashes look thin unless I spend time taking care during application. I mostly use more premium mascaras and this does perform well but those I can apply in a much quicker manner so reach for them.

The mascara lasts all night without smudging or fading in intensity. The thick brush is fiddly when I am applying to the slimmer lashes in the outer corners of my eyes and the rounded end makes it hard to use that to reach them too. I use Clarins eye make up remover and this removes all traces of the Thick and Fast mascara very quickly and leaves no black deposits on the skin around my eyes. If I do not remove my mascara before I go to bed it does melt into my skin while I sleep and leaves flakes in my lashes.
