Advantages: Makes lips appear very glossy, tastes nice.
Disadvantages: Doesn't add any colour to lips, very sticky, doesn't plump my lips, price.
I had never used any Soap & Glory products before Christmas but I had read endless good reviews on lots of their products. Therefore when Boots reduced the big gift set to less than half price just before Christmas, I decided to treat myself to one and find out what all the fuss was about. This Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss was one of the items i got in the gift set.
There are different shades available but the one I received is pink apricot, which is a nice peachy colour rather than pink. I usually opt for pink coloured lip glosses so if I had the choice I probably would have picked a different colour, but I do still like this and if this is anything to go by, it really doesn't matter what colour you choose anyway...
After applying this to my lips it didn't really change the colour of them. It did however make them look extremely glossy and also made my lips slightly tingly! The most noticeable thing about this lipgloss though is how sticky it is. I cannot stand overly sticky lipglosses and unfortunately this is one of them.
Soap & Glory claim this lipgloss is an.... 'Extreme formula lip plumping gloss, with scientifically-proven plumping microspheres that explode in volume up to 10x when they come in contact with water. (They're like tiny, dehydrated little sponges that expand when you apply them onto your lips. It also contains a rare circulation enhancing ingredient that gives your lips a little 'electric' buzz, to move more blood around the area, creating the swelling effect mentioned above).'
Unfortunately the only part I can agree with is the 'electric buzz'. As I mentioned it does leave my lips feeling tingly, but thats it. My lips did not look more plumped or any bigger and after their dramatic claims I thought I would notice a slight difference, but nothing!
This gloss does manage to stay on your lips for sometime, and you do realise this as it's hard to forget that your wearing it due to its stickiness! It also tastes very nice, just as Soap & Glory describe it, chocolate orange, and the scent also stays on your lips for some time too.
I certainly won't be going out to buy another when I have ran out as in my opinion is has more cons than pros. I do still wear it now and again if I want my lips to appear really glossy as it is good at this, but this is the only reason why I still wear it.
This is priced at £8.43 and is available from Boots. ASOS also sell Soap & Glory products but at the moment this lipgloss isn't on the website, although I have seen it on there before so they might just be out of stock.
I do like Soap & Glory after using many of their other products that I got in the gift set though, so this hasn't put me off the brand completely. So expect to see many more reviews on Soap & Glory products from me coming up! :)
Summary: Very very sticky and doesn't live up to its claims!
