A really nice product which I have enjoyed using several times!

I seem to be the sort of person who is always rushing round, I work full time and seem to have a really busy social life and try to keep upto date with my big family. Therefore I don't very often end up pampering myself but I do love Soap & Glory products. My friend bought me a gorgeous Soap & Glory - The Right Manicure set for Christmas. We both love Soap & Glory products and this is a gorgeous gift set.

The set comes in a stunning square tin which is nice as I always end up with lots of toiletry bags from gifts. The front of the tin is covered with lots of black and white retro photos and newspaper snippets there is a circle in the middle which has the soap and glory logo and the product title. The rest of the tin is decorated in the lovely pink tones associated with Soap & Glory. I've still not decided what I'm going to keep in the tin when I've finished using the products but I definitely won't be throwing it away.

When you open the tin (its hinged-lidded) you are greeted with the delightful sight of four Soap & Glory products as follows:

      * 50ml tub of Shea Butter hand scrub.
      * 125ml tube of 'Hand Food' hand cream.
      * A large oval nail file with buff and shine side.
      * A pair of cotton gloves.

These are all nicely arranged in the tin and they are in the same packaging as you would buy them regularly off the shelf in boots

There are no instructions in the tin as to what order to use the products in, I find this a little disappointing as I think some guidance would be the icing on the cake. However the product I use first is the Shea Butter hand scrub, this comes in a round pink plastic pot. When you unscrew the lid you see the product it is a hard beige like butter which is speckled with sea salt. When scooping the product up with your fingers and then rubbing it into your hands there is quite a gritty consistency which is due to the sea salt. The scrub feels a little greasy due to the butter type consistency but when you rinse your hands they feel nice and soft. This hand scrub contains sea salts, grapeseed and almond oils which gives the product a nice smell and leaves your hands feeling soft.

The next item I use is the nail file, I like to paint my nails and I find it important to keep them all a similar length as I think this makes them look the nicest. So I file each of my nails using the patterned side of the nail file which has retro photos on it like the tin. I find the roughness of the file really good, it is not too rough but not too gentle either. I find if you want to file quite a lot from your nail you just need to apply pressure. Then to neaten the nails I go gently around them with the nail file. I then buff the top of my nails to ensure they are shiny and smooth, I use the slightly rougher pink half first to smooth the nails, I then use the smoother white half to add a shine to my nails.

Next I open the flip lid on the tube of hand food and squeeze a little bit into my hand, you really don't need much. I then rub my hands together to distribute the cream and it glides nicely over you hands leaving them feeling nice and soft. The hand food contains Shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. When you have used the cream you are left with a nice smell on your hands, this smell is quite sweet but not overly so and all the range seems to have a similar fragrance.

I then put on the cotton gloves which appear to be quite stretchy but I have relatively small hands anyway. The gloves are pink with Soap & Glory printed on them I think they look really nice. I leave the gloves on for a couple of hours or while I sleep and my hands feel really nice and soft when I remove them. I also find that my nails appear smooth and nice and shiny too.

I used this manicure set last night and my hands still feel nice and smooth now, I find it is a really easy set to use and the process is quite speedy for such good results. I have used this set a couple of times and I think the products will last a long time as you don't need to use a lot each time. I think this set retailed for around £20 at Christmas on Boots 3 for 2 gift promotion. I probably wouldn't be this myself due to the price but I loved receiving it as a gift.

S&G hand products are top of the range

I received the Soap & Glory 'The right manicure' set as a Christmas present and I love it!

In the set you get the following S&G products:
        - A tub of smoothing shea butter hand scrub, 50ml.
        - A tube of hand food hand cream (125ml)
        - A large nail file with buff and shine side
        - pair of cotton gloves.

It's all in a hinged tin with the distinctive Soap & Glory old fashioned style packaging.

Since Christmas, I've enjoyed using the set. Firstly, the nail file is good quality and an oval shape, and chunky size so it's easy to use. I'm not a big fan of buffing as I find it can take the top layer of your nail off but if there's a bit of uneven nail it can help.

The Hand Food (hand cream) is a product I have on me all the time (and a big pump bottle at work). It is the perfect consistency, smells great and sinks in well. You just can't go wrong with it and this huge tube will last me ages!

The hand smoothing scrub is a lovely treatment, and although the product looks a weird murky colour, it works really well and leaves hands looking lovely.

Finally, the treatment gloves, are stretchy cotton and look a little small but I have large hands and they easily stretched to fit me. You're supposed to keep them on whilst you sleep but I prefer to put them on when I'm having some down time in front of the tv. They help the hand cream to sink in a lot better.

Having decantered the products out of the tin and into the bathroom now, I'm already thinking about what to keep in the tin. It's so lovely and a good size so will come in handy no doubt.

I think this set was around the £20 mark at Christmas but it was in Boots' 3 for 2 deal. It's probably quite expensive but I find the products are all high quality and have fabulous packaging with witty labels on them too.

Great if you want really soft hands!

SORRY!!!.....but this is the only other Soap & Glory I will be reviewing for sometime, so please bear (bare?) with me!

Yet another great item in the Soap & Glory range, this time for your hands. Now I have been using their handcream for sometime ( that is when my daughter buys it as it can be expensive compared to some!) so when I got my own little metal tin of goodies I was well pleased ( so was my daughter!).

This comes in a really great square hinged-lidded tin with lots of black & white retro pictures on the tin, with the rest being in the usual pink tones of this company. When opening the lid you are met with the stunning sight of a huge tube of "Hand Food" 125ml, which is the best hand cream that I have used. With it's flip top lid and a gentle squeeze you will get a squirt of white soft cream that just glides all over your hands, leaving them feeling very soft with a slight fragrance ( the smell seems to almost be the same for every item in this range!),I must admit I do prefer the smell of the Vaseline handcream but this does make my hands feel soft for a long time after.

This hand cream is non greasy so sinks into the hands quickly, it also contains Shea Butter, Macadamia oil and Marshmallow.

You also recieve with this set, a pair of pink cotton gloves to wear at night after putting on your hand cream. Thus waking up to even softer hands! The gloves look quite small at first, but when trying them on you will find that they are made from a stretchy material so should fit all hand sizes.

Next in the tin is the Soap & Glory Shea Butter Hand Scrub, this comes in a round pink plastic pot with a screw on lid containing 50ml. When you unscrew the lid you will be met with a beige hard speckled butter. This contains Sea Salts, Grapeseed and Almond Oils. When rubbing your fingers into this and then rubbing all over your hand you will feel the tiny gritty bits of sea salt scrubbing your hands and the oils making them very greasy after a quick rinse off with some warm water your hands will fill very soft ready for your hand cream to be applied.

Lastly you will see in your tin a very large nail file that is quite thick with the emery board side being again very retro and the other side being much softer and in a plain pink and white style with the words Soap & glory written at one end. They do say that this is a three sided nail shaping file ( must admit my daughter files my nails for me so I'm not to up on files!) which my daughter says is very good!.

So again another great gift in the Soap & Glory range!.
