Soap and glory trick and treatment
Another one of my Soap and Glory products bought from Boots when they were on a buy 3 get one free offer, and also because i do like the packaging!
WHAT IS IT?
This is an under eye dark circle concealer and promises that it is clinically proven to reduce dark circles. It apparently has a special yellow tone which is designed to hide any bluish purple undereye circles.
There are before and after pictures showing a marked difference in the eye area and a comment that "youthful looking insomniac admits her bright under eye area all comes down to trick and Treatment".
This sounds like it should be good.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
This is packaged in typical Soap and Glory packaging. The product is inside a box and the box is covered in newspaper type headlines and attention grabbing slogans such as the one quoted above. It's all very easy to read and with the use of pictures we quickly get the idea of what the product will do and how it will help with beauty issues!
When I open the box, I take out the small tube containing the product. When the screw on/off lid is unscrewed, there is a wand with a kind of lip gloss sponge on the end with which to apply the concealer.
The product itself has no real discernible smell, nothing which I at any rate could say what it smells like. When I apply it, it's a kind of cream colour and much lighter than my skin and does feel lovely and soft and creamy but strangely enough, not very thick. It does take some rubbing in, so be careful because it's the eye area, but once rubbed in fully, underneath my eye area looks much brighter- could be because of the lighter colour.
USING IT...
It's very simple to use- simply apply every day onto dark under eye circles. Dab on the inner corners of the eye and then blend outwards as needed. It doesn't say how often but I have been applying it morning and night to try to encourage maximum impact.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
This costs £9.00 for a 7ml tube but because only a little is required it does last a long time-using it twice daily I have had this almost a month now. This, like all of the Soap and Glory products is available from Boots the Chemist, www.boots.com, beyond beauty and Harvey Nichols.
The website, www.soapandglorycosmetics.com gives lots of information about all of the products in the range, so you can get an idea of what you would like to buy.
VERDICT...
It is nice and creamy and for me is like giving my eye area some extra moisture especially in this colder weather. The colour of the product is lighter than my skin tone and so does take some blending to ensure its not obvious. I don't know that it really makes too much difference to any dark shadows but I do feel it's nice and gentle for my eye area.
The product does last a considerable length of time given thatit's such a small tube. However, it's not the best under eye product i have used and it's a bit pricey for an under eye cream.
Anyone who loves the soap and glory products will love it but I won't be buying it again.
Thanks for reading.

- 21/10/09 Thanks for your review - I was tempted to buy this but was put off by the fact it's a concealer (they can look a bit chalky on me) but your creamy verdict has convinced me to try! Cheers. |
