Stargazer Neon Pressed Powder:

On Saturday I had a bit of a premonition that I should check the bank balance, normally this means I have forgotten about something and nasty charges are on the way; luckily in this case it was good news, the other half's wages had cleared early, (they weren't due to Tuesday), deciding it was fate telling us to have a night out we headed into town to get some supplies.

Having some New Look vouchers I decided to get a new top and some new make-up too! One of the goodies I treated myself to was some Stargazer neon pressed powder in a seriously bright green! I have to admit I LOVE stargazer stuff so I was chuffed when I realised New Look stock them and have such a good range.

The packaging of these powders is awesome. It isn't flashy but it works! A thick black plastic bottom holds a decent portion, (3.5g), of the powder and a clear plastic lid let's you see the colour at a glance. The catch is great and very strong while still being easy to open; I can do it with one hand which is great as sometimes when I put make-up on I feel like I need extra hands!

I have to admit that I didn't expect these powders to be as bright on my skin as they are in the pack but believe me they are BRIGHT. I was really chuffed when I applied some to my eyes and saw the gorgeous neon green colour. The colour is curiously called forest but it isn't remotely forest green, (well unless the forest they are referring to was one of Pink Floyd's acid induced trips)! On the Stargazer website the colour looks very subdued and isn't anything like the colour you will get. I also got an eyeliner pencil in the same colour and they worked really well together.

The powder goes on really easily without caking or getting dust all over your face. They blend easily, (I only ever use my fingers), and you can create some great effects with ease. If you a sharp pointed brush you can get a great eyeliner effect too. You can build up the colour if you want but to be honest these are so bright that you don't really need to.

In terms of lasting power I went out at 8.00pm to see a band, (they were called Hundred Days and awesome), and then went on to a rock and metal club and moshed and rocked out until 3.00am and when I got home I still needed to spend a bit of time with some make-up remover to get this off!

I had quite a few compliments, (okay from my friends and family but they still count), when wearing this and I felt great too, it really made my eyes which are my favourite feature stand out and the colour re-acts with the UV light in the club too which is awesome!

Like I said earlier I got this from New Look and it cost £3.00, they are £3.00 on the Stargazer website too, (www.stargazer-products.com). The colour on the New Look site is much more like the colour of the powder.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants a really bright pressed powder, (you can use it as blusher too but I'm not sure Neon Green cheeks would look good), for a great price. You would have to look hard to get a better product and it would probably cost a small fortune.

(The picture above shows the full range but the colours aren't too close to the actual product).

Summary: A great product for a great price.
