Advantages: Cheap, bright, versatile, highly pigmented so last a long time.

Disadvantages: You won't be able to buy just one.

Once only found online and in little independent stores, this brand of cosmetics is now available in branches of New Look at reasonable prices. It was nice to see these in a high street store as it used to be hard to track these down.

Stargazer eyeshadows are minimally packaged, highly pigmented eyecolours that you can use for more than just your eyes. The eyeshadow comes in a simple black bottomed compact style casing with a clear top so that you can see the colour at a glance. Inside is a pan of eyeshadow that is almost as big as the packaging itself.

The shade that I use most is a bright red shade. A little certainly goes a long way with this one so don't apply it like you would a usual eyeshadow, it will be far too much. You can also wet a liner brush and use this as a funky colour liner for your eyes. I've take this multi-tasking further and have since used it as blusher - please only use the teeniest amount for this or you will look like a rag-doll, and also as a lip colour - a dab of this with some balm over and you get a really nice red gloss shade.

This costs £3 a pot, but look out for reductions in New Look as I've been able to pick up this and other shades for 50p a pop. It's a bargain at £3 already though, as it's comparably to Barry M and Mac eyeshadows is you are looking for the bright colours. It's long lasting, hard wearing and worth a lot more than the price you'll pay.
