I figure if Kylie can still get away with glitter and sequins then so can I at 30 something years of age. Admittedly I really only go for a glittery eye if I am going out clubbing or to a bar but it's still a look I absolutely love. In order to achieve this sparkly look I use the Kitten eye liner from the make up company Stila.
Stila says that this eye liner instantly lights up your eyes with twinkling multi-pearl glitter and I have to admit this definitely does lighten up my eyes. It makes them really bright and stand out and I love the look that I can achieve with this product. It's a really easy eye liner to use. I don't use eye liner at any other time but I have tried the black liquid ones before and those are really hard to apply in my opinion but this liquid eye liner goes on really well. The eye liner comes in a little tube much like a mascara and there is a little wand that you unscrew at the top. Here you will find a very very thin little brush on which the eyeliner sticks to . The brush is thin but fairly long so its easy to glide it across your eyelids and add the glitter to them.
I tend to use this eyeliner once i have finished putting on my eyeshadow. The nice thing is that you can blend it in to your eyeshadow or if you want to go for a bare look without any eyeshadow you can do that too. I however stick with eyeshadow to give my eyes more oomph! Then I just draw a thin little line across my eyelid with the brush. I find quite a bit of glitter comes off onto the eye but it is not all gloopy or thick which is nice. It's quite a funny sensation when you first put glitter eyeliner on your eyes because there is a little bit of glue in it in order for the glitter to stick so at first your eye may feel a bit sticky but as soon as it dries you don't even feel the product on your lids.
For maximum effect I also apply the eyeliner to the underneath of my eyes so they really do sparkle. The colour of this eyeliner is amazing and not too in your face, it just adds enough glitter to give them twinkle and if your eyes catch the light and the glitter catches the light you will get a really nice gleam off of them. The colour is described as a unique combination of glitter in champagne, rose gold, bronze, gold and pink. As I like to wear a lot of brown and golden coloured eyeshadows this colour is absolutely perfect for me and really blends in well with my existing eyeshadow.
Apparently the eyeliner also contains chamomile so it also soothes the skin and improves skin elasticity which is another good benefit. You can purchase these in Boots and they cost £10. As I only use mine every so often this has lasted for a good many months and I can see it lasting for a lot longer too as it is still s good as the day I bought it, no clumping or turning bad yet.
A great way to glitter!!
