Stila Lip Glaze
Advantages: Looks pretty, long lasting and plenty of shades
Disadvantages: The price
I don't really think that lipstick suits me very much but my lips looks to pale and bare without anything so lip glosses tend to be the answer to this problem. I am not faithful to any particular brand and so when I lost my Benefit lip gloss, I purchased the Lip Glaze by Stila.
What does the product do?
The product has been designed to make your lips shiny and eye catching. It claims that it will give your lips a splash of beautiful colour which not only look good but that smell and taste good too.
There are lots of different shades available ranging through neutrals, pinks and browns. Some of them come with a cute name such as Kitten and Honeydew, although most of them are actually named after fruit such as Blackberry, Cherry, Watermelon and Cranberry. I chose Mango which is a pretty pink shade.
Packaging and Price
The product is contained within a see through plastic tube which is partially cloudy but you can still clearly see the colour of the gloss inside. You need to twist the bottom of the tube and this moves the gloss upwards and onto the brush which is attached to the tube. The brush is made out of white soft and silky bristles. The product will cost you around £15 for each gloss and it can be bought from department stores such as Boots as well as a range of online websites.
Aroma and Consistency
Each Lip Glaze comes with its own individual scent that matches its name. Mine does smell like Mango but it is quite artificial and sugary. I don't love it but I don't hate it either but whatever your preference, you can only really smell the product as you are applying it and it fades once it's on your lips. The consistency of the gloss is fairly thick.
Application and Performance
It is fairly easy to control the amount of gloss that comes out of the tube as long as you don't twist it too much. The brush makes the gloss easy to apply although I wish the bristles were a tiny bit shortly so that I could be a bit more accurate with my application. The gloss is thick and gloopy. It feels quite sticky on the lips but then I am yet to find a lip gloss that doesn't isn't sticky on the lips. The colour is nice on my lips. It is almost an enhancement on my normal lip colour but it has some tiny particles of shimmer within it.
It has a beautiful shine and it does make your lips look very pretty and eye catching. It tastes nice if you actually touch it with your tongue. The staying power is pretty good and even if I'm eating or drinking then some of it with still be left on. I would typically reapply the product two or three times on a night out which is quite low for me. It feels comfortable on my lips and it doesn't leave my lips feeling dry or tight once it has been removed.
There are enough shades in the collection to suit everyone and they all smell and taste nice enough. The product is comfortable on the lips, long lasting and it has a beautiful shine that makes the lips look pretty. I would definitely purchase another of these glosses but I have knocked off one star because of the slightly hefty price tag.
Summary: A lovely lip gloss which gives the lips a shiny finish and a splash of colour
