Advantages: Great Versatile Product, Beautiful Colours In Range, Chic Packaging
Disadvantages: Possibly The Price For People Not Willing To Spend So Much On One Product.
A lip-gloss made just for Cameron Diaz is a lip-gloss that simply has to be in my collection. Well a glaze to be exact. I am addicted to make up that is bright, colourful, quality and last but not least expensive. Well come on expensive stuff tends to be of better quality so why not??
Stila is one of my most favourite make brands because of it’s kitschy, cutie, bright packaging. I intended to try this product for a long time but never really got round to it, when I finally did buy it I wondered why on earth it took so bloody long for me to discover what a wonderful product it really is.
This product is now permanently in my handbag whenever I go out as it’s really convenient but also cool to show off to other people ;) I know it’s not really as popular as it should be, but the actual idea of a lip glaze pen is now all over the place thanks to many cheaper (and nastier) alternatives.
This product is used on so many celebrities I’ve lost count! I’m sure I saw Jennifer Lopez using it in the wedding planner and obviously the glaze was created for Miss Diaz for her role in Charlie’s Angels.
STILA*~
Stila is really popular and has been for some time now. The creator is Jeanine Lobelle who insists packaging is a big part of selling her products and I totally understand why. The products in this range are always original and of quality.
DIFFERENT SHADES OF LIP GLAZE*~
Apricot – This colour is a darker yellow and nude type of colour. I think this colour would suit people with really light skin. It’s quite light but also nude. The colour is quite noticeable once Its been applied to lips. This isn’t really one of my favourite because it doesn’t really suit me.
Banana – This is a sort of light yellow/nude type of colour. It’s slightly lighter than Apricot. It’s really more a natural tone and would really suit being used on it&
#8217;s own. I like the colour because of its simplicity, definitely one for the girlies who love to just gloss and go without any actual colour.
Berry – I love this colour because it’s a dark purple/brown concoction. It might sound dull and boring but really adds colour to your lips. This colour isn’t as bright as some of the others as its more dark but its definitely one of my favourites as it’s really noticeable when its been applied to lips.
Blackberry – This colour is a slightly darker version of Berry. It’s got a very similar shade but has more of a brown tone in it whereas Berry has a more purple based colour. I like this colour, as it’s a bit darker than Berry, which makes it more noticeable. It’s a nice colour to use on top of lipstick too.
Cinnamon – This is a lighter orange and pink colour. It’s not one of my favourites, as it wouldn’t really suit me. If teamed up with the right skin tones I think it would really pretty but light and bright colour it would need the right make up teamed up with it to work.
Fruit Punch – This is just a lovely, lush pink colour, which I simply adore. It looks dark in the actual but when you apply it, it is actually quite light. You can actually control the tone of the colour by applying the amount you want. I like this colour because of its pink tone.
Grape – This is one of my favourite colours because it’s just such a dark, fruity colour. It’s very similar to Berry and Blackberry but is much more purple based. It’s brighter and lighter in colour. It’s got more pink and purple tones in it, which makes it more fun, and summery which is what I like about it. This colour would definitely suit any skin type as it adds a fruity colour to your lips.
Grapefruit – This is a very light baby pink colour, which is extremely sweet. It’s quite light but when applied to
lips it can look quite bright and noticeable, even though the colour looks lovely in the container it’s not really for me as it’s too light and can look pale on certain skin types.
Orange – As you might have guessed this colour is very orange based. It’s not an ordinary orange it’s quite dark and very bright. When first applied it isn’t very dark and has a bright but fruity appearance, but the more you apply the darker the orange becomes.
Peach – This colour is very similar to Orange but its slightly lighter, which gives it a more nude shade and tone. This colour might be used more naturally whereas Orange would be used more on top of other colours and such. It’s a nicer colour than the Orange shade as it isn’t as bright.
Plum – This is another Berry type colour but very light. It’s not as noticeable as some of the other plumy shades but is just as cute. The shade may be quite light but it’s a really fruity, sweet colour. Because it’s quite light it looks better used over other colour to add a plum shade over other lipstick colours.
Raspberry – This colour is a mix of bright pink and bright purple. I like this colour because it’s so bright and definitely good to use on its own. That is what is so good about this colour, the fact that you can use it on its own. It’s a very popular shade as I’ve noticed a lot of people tend to like this colour, I can see why as it’s one of the best shades and has a lovely scent too.
Strawberry – This is a very bright pink colour. It reminds me a lot of sweets because of the strong pink colour. It’s extremely bright and when applied it is instantly noticeable. Its got a very bright and strong shade which I think is a bit too bright, the colour is nice but I don’t think it would suit everyone.
Vanilla – This isn’t as plain as it sounds. I don&
#8217;t really know how to describe it but it seems more like a bitter beige with a touch of brown in it. It isn’t really a dark or light colour but seems to be more in between. It doesn’t really have a nice tone to it so I think it would be best to use it on top of another colour for a nice gloss.
Watermelon – This is really pretty light pink but not baby pink. This is a really sheer and glossy colour; it’s light but very girly. I like this colour because of the pink shade of it. It’s not a really dark and noticeable pink but a simple, pretty pink. I like to use this colour on it’s own a lot of the time as it looks better on it’s own.
THE LIP GLAZE*~
This lip glaze is just perfect to use over lipsticks and even better to use on it’s own for a natural look. Some of the colours give perfect natural looks whilst others can be used on top of lipsticks for ultra glam looks.
One thing I love about this glaze is that the texture isn’t too thick or too thin. It’s just the right texture which makes it super easy to apply. I like the product itself and prefer using it to anything else, it is my favourite lip product and I use it nearly all the time, I prefer using this to lipsticks, as it’s more fashionable and certainly easier to use. Oh and not forgetting the ultra chic packaging I love to show off.
People who have tried this will realise that the actual glaze doesn’t last that long compared to other glosses and stuff. It does run out quickly I must admit but that is purely because I tend to use it on a regular basis. If it’s a quality product, quantity really shouldn’t matter right?
One thing that I’ve realised about this product is that it lasts for ages. I always find myself reapplying most lip glazes but this one does genuinely last for ages. Especially if I use it over lipstick.
THE SMELL*~
Oh all I can s
ay is yummy! It’s all apart of the Stila lip glaze experience. They all have a beautiful fruity smell, which just adds a gorgeous touch to the whole product. There are a lot of lip glosses and glazes that I know that taste and smell like...well nothing so thankfully these all smell beautiful and fruity. Oh and they taste great too. ;)
THE PACKAGING*~
The packaging is ever so cute. It comes in a clear long tube, which shows exactly what the colour of the glaze is. The brush applicator is just fool proof. All you do is twist the end of the tube to get a tiny amount to come out at the front brush and there you go. Apply! It’s so easy but also handy because it means absolutely no leakage. I know I have problems with leaking lip-gloss all in my handbag but I know I can get exactly how much I want and leave the rest! Perfect!
The cool clear tube has Stila written on it in a very girly font. The tube is perfect to just pop into your handbag, I know I’m just obsessed with mine! It’s a really convenient design as the twist-up pen is incredibly easy to use!
This was the first time I ever saw a lip glaze pen of this kind, I’ve now seen so many rip offs on the market its quite funny. Stila definitely started the trend of lip glaze pens.
THE PRICE*~
This lip glaze cost me £18 (stop screaming you bargain hunters) and I think it’s totally worth it. Even though I do tend to buy mass amounts I personally think I should get a huge discount ;) I think the price is quite high but considering its Stila that’s no real shock, were not buying Rimmel here you know! It’s a good product and that’s all you need to know, if it was a totally bog standard product I wouldn’t certainly not think £18 would be worth it but I’ve been delighted with this product which is why I think it’s worth every penny.
ADVANTAGES*~
Where do I begin? Ok well I’ll s
tart with the versatility of the product. You can use it on it’s on for a nice n’ natural look, or on top of lipstick for an ultra glam party look. It really doesn’t matter it suits any type of looks. I use it more for natural looks, you know where you’re about to leave the house and cannot be arsed to put on a whole load a slap, this comes in handy for those kind of situations because it adds instant glamour to any look.
DISADVANTAGES*~
Ok I am struggling as usual. With my favourite products it is almost always impossible to find a single disadvantage for such a fabulous product like this one. I guess like many others people might think it’s too high priced, but you have to try it to believe how good it is. I guess people who spend like £3.99 on a lip glaze would be outraged to have to spend £18 for a lip glaze. I can understand why people wouldn’t want to spend their money but in my eyes it’s worth every penny.
OVERALL*~
Overall I am extremely happy with this product. I know it must seem like I say this about every product but trust me, this product should be in every single gal’s make up bag! It’s so versatile, and easy to use.
I’ve seen so many companies make lip glazes just like this and it has identical packaging. I know for a fact Caboodles made a very similar glaze as did Ruby & Millie and I’m sure I saw Revlon had something similar but Stila made it first. It’s been copied by several make up companies, as it is a really popular make-up product. It’s probably Stila’s most popular product as it was brand new and original when Stila first came out with it. I know several companies have made copies and it’s for the reason because Stila’s glaze is so expensive, I know many people would much rather go for the cheaper alternative but trust me it isn’t worth it, I have tried the Caboodles version and even though it is
quite good it’s nothing on the original. The quality of Stila just cannot be messed with.
Come on girlies, all I can say it try this out, I know once you’ve tried it you will continue to buy it, its that good, it may be pricey but considering the fact that you can use it all the time makes it worth it!
