“ Brand: Stila / Type: Lipgloss / Texture: Cream „
When it comes to the brand of Stila it's a brand that I'm aware of. I've heard only good things about the range but hadn't actually physically come into contact with it till last week and to be honest I never went looking for it due to knowing that it isn't a cheap range of make up products and although I love make up I own so much I cant justify to high a price for stuff cos I own heaps already!
However I had a date and I couldn't afford a new outfit (cos I have bought loads of new clothes and shoes lately that hadn't even been worn) but felt a bit sorry for myself so of I went looking for some new make up. In T.J Hughes I noticed they had loads of Stila products and this 'Twinset' (and loads of other colours) were all £3.00 each. I had no idea of the usual retail price of these but knew I was about to make a hefty saving and boy was I happy!
The tube comes in a light brown cardboard long box. On that I'm told what it is and who it's by and the size is stated (10 fl oz 3 ml for the demi cream and 0.7 fl oz/ 2.3ml for the shine). Other information on other sides of the box tells me ingredients used and the colour is stated (in my case I purchased Scarlet of course lol). The product itself is a long sturdy professional looking silver tube which is long rather long. Around the middle in black writing I'm told it is Stila Twinset Demi Creme + Shine (and told that in a foreign language), contact details for Stila are given and the recycle symbol is shown and to one end of the tube there is a clear plastic end which shows the shine colour. It's a nice looking tube and robust and secure and what is further nice about it is that so far (since I've owned it, it's remained scratch proof!).
What you have here is two product in one. Unscrew one end and you have the lip-colour and to use that there is a long plastic wand with a longish and firm sponge applicator to it attached to the lid. The other end when you untwist it gives you a pot of the shine and to the main body of the tube again there is a longish plastic wand but on the end of that you have a white coloured, great quality brush.
You can use this in three ways of course. Use the demi shine on it's own, the shine on it's own (cos it does have a light colour to it and is basically a rather posh lip-gloss) or both together...the choice is yours!
Well it's a rich creamy colour and not glossy but at the same time not exactly matte. It glides on with the applicator with ease and distributes easily. It has no smell to it at all and when on the lips feels highly moisturising. It really isn't a problem at all to apply and has a feeling of great quality to it. I don't like greasy feeling squishy lips and this doesn't deliver that but lips are left feeling a bit pouty and highly smooth. It covers up any small imperfections you have on the lips as it is quite thick but it doesn't feel that way! Once the colour is on expect a good couple of hours wear from it with minimal transference though don't try snogging it will come off! To minimise this though (I would normally say don't snog but I had hot date so it wasn't an option lol) just apply it and give it a quick blot before getting stuck in! The colour ingrains into the lips much like a lip stain but doesn't feel dry and doesn't cake up or crumble over time.
This is fabulous! I can see why it's not called a gloss cos it's much more than that and I would simply buy this product just for the shine!
The brush given is a great size and all you do is simply wipe this over the demi colour for a shiny look but because it does contain a bit of colour to it is great just to wear for a slightly shiny look on it's own or of course you could if you wanted to use it over any other lippie you own for a bit of added bling. What is great about this is that it really does deliver high shine in a none trouty pout way. It doesn't look plastic but make lips look rather wet making them appear fuller and so very inviting! It feels wonderfully moisturising though and not wet or heavy! What is also brilliant about this is that when you use the applicator given over lipstick it doesn't lift off the your base colour thus making the applicator or light coloured pot of colour mucky looking.
Worn together these products make lips really stand out in a wonderful way. The products are as I said high quality and adding definition to your lips couldn't be any simpler!
I know in my local Debenhams they stock this range and expect to pay around £16.00 a tube though I have been looking on line at these to purchase and the cheapest I can currently find is on Shopping.com and they are priced at £12.00 a tube including posting and packaging! I still think your best off going to T.J Hughes though! lol.
