Advantages: Great packaging, low prices, products that really work

Disadvantages: few

Kolor is Superdrug's own brand make-up range for teens to adults.

To look at the packaging, you'd really expect it to be quite pricey, but anyone who knows superdrug, will know this could never be the case.

And you'd be right. Nothing will set you back more than a fiver!

So, where's the catch - looks great costs little?

Well, I have to say I can't really find one! I was lucky enough to be a beauty writer for a very brief but glorious couple of weeks (filling in) and got sent a selection to try out.

I can safely say that there are very few duffs in the range. The lipgloss was a tad too sticky - a bit like pritt stick to be honest - but the colours were really good.

You can't go wrong with their eyeshadows and eyeliners. I will keep buying these for as long as they make them - or until I become rich and famous. My personal favourite is an eyeshadow duo in pink and white which is positively angelic and lasts the distance. At £2.99 for the two colours, you really can't complain at that!

The nail varnish is another winner and I'm hooked on a deep burgundy - although I add a sheer blue over the top for an extra twist. They come in really little pots to cut down on costs - after all, who has ever finished a big bottle without it going glupy first?

Everyone should get there mitts on the bronzing powder - it refuses to run out and goes on a treat. I'm always getting nice comments when I whisk a couple of strokes of bronzer over my cheekbones before I go out.

So, there you have it - some great make-up basics that's look as good on your dresser as they do on your face.

Go wild and grab yourself a few treats!
