There are certain items that I can't see the point in spending a fortune on and one of these is cotton wool balls.
In our house they are used for a variety of reasons and I always buy them from Tesco. There are two types I have a choice from and both retail at the same price. The only difference is that the smaller ones you get a quantity of 300, whereas the larger ones you only get 100. Both packs are about £1.30 or a bit less.
I usually opt for the larger ones as my daughters and wife tend to have to use 2 or 3 times as many of the smaller ones. I also find it a convenient size for when I use them from keeping cold getting in my ears at certain periods I have earache. Nothing nicer for me than nice warm olive oil to sooth the ache away. I also use it to apply skin lotion to my sons eczema. The balls can be pulled apart if you need a smaller one.
They are made of 100% cotton and are soft. My wife says she has hasn't ever experienced softer cotton balls when removing make up and these do the job 'very well'. For that reason I can't see any reason why I'd wan't to pay more.
The cotton balls come in a clear bag and are clearly aimed at baby's as it says so. So I guess they are more than adequate for applying lotion and cleaning babies bottoms also. They are certainly soft and large enough to do the job properly.
I am giving the Tesco Large Cotton Balls a whopping 5 dooyoo stars as they do exactly what it says on the tin................er I mean packet.
