I like to wear nail varnish most of the time as I think it just adds to your whole look and looks as though you have made a bit of an effort. I have quite a collection of nail varnishes and like to change my look quite often and so I do need to have cotton wool pads in along with nail varnish remover for when I wish to take the varnish off. I am not one to spend extra money on something that is only going to be used to wipe off nail polish and so my latest cotton wool pads come from the tesco everyday value range.

The pads come in a clear plastic wrap which although basic looking does not look quite as basic as the previous pack as this one is now part of the revamped everyday value range. The colours used on the pack are purples and we are told that there are 80 cotton wool pads in this pack, made from 100% pure cotton and there is also a picture on the front with various symbols which I guess give you an idea of the uses of this product. From memory I think these pads cost around sixty pence but I cannot find them on the website to confirm this!

There is a section at the bottom of the pack where you are meant to open the pack but it really doesn't matter where you open it in my opinion. The pack is quite thin so it literally opens very easily and there is no need for scissors to cut it open.

The cotton wool pads are of an average thickness and I certainly wouldn't say they look as though they are from a value brand. They do tear in half quite easily but to be honest I quite like this as I don't need too much to remove my nail varnish and so can often pull one pad apart and use just one per removal. I also found pulling the pads apart handy when I went deaf from swimming and had to pop olive oil in my ears daily until I had them syringed as a full pad was too much but a half pad blocked my ear nicely and stopped the oil from trickling out of my ear.

These pads are also really handy for when I am not being lazy and decide to take off my make up using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. It isn't often I do this as I do tend to be quite lazy and opt to use a make up wipe! Still when I do use the cleanser and toner I find that these cotton wool pads are gentle on my skin when I wipe the cleanser and toner across my skin and they do really seem to help remove all traces of make up.

I think these cotton wool pads are great for the price and quite a versatile item to have in your cosmetics drawer at home! I see no reason to pay extra for a similar product when this value item ticks all the boxes for me.
