Tesco Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads
by basketofbuttons
I shop in Tesco all the time and I use a lot of their own range of products - everything from food to household goods, to plant care to make up and medicine. One of the items I use all the time from Tesco's own range of beauty products is their Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads. These come packaged in a long plastic cylinder type tube ... with a drawstring across the top so you can keep the pack closed up and it stops them from falling all over the place. They are also very easy to open because there is a well perforated line right across the top when they are new and you just pull this apart to get into them.
The cotton wool pads are circular in shape and white in color. They seem to be made up of a few layers of cotton wool, all pressed down on top of one another to make one fairly thin (but quite absorbent) pad. I use these cotton wool pads primarily for removing my eye make up, for cleansing my face of make up and also for removing nail varnish.
As they are quite thin, this makes it much easier for me to use them to get down the sides of the nail bed to remove the last traces of nail varnish. Using a cotton wool ball in the same way just isn't as effective as using one of these pads as the balls are too thick.
The thing I like about these pads, (apart from the fact that they are only 49p for 80) is that they never shred or come apart and they are brilliant at absorbing liquids. They work so well whenever I use them to apply facial toner and they never shred or come apart as Tesco have made them so that all the little thin layers are pressed very tightly together.
They are excellent quality when you consider the price and the last for ages as they are so absorbent. I have paid a lot more for similar ones from the Body Shop and to be honest, I actually prefer these, and they are cheaper into he bargain.
Highly recommended. Read the complete review |

Tesco Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads

=Tesco Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads=
I'm not really faithful to any one brand of cotton wool, so when I was shopping at Tesco I popped one bag into try.
=Price=
A pack of 80 cotton wool pads cost 50p, and are available in store and are also available on-line, although delivery charges may ... apply.
=The pack=
They come in a plastic wrapper and this is cylinder shaped, and at the top of the packet, you tear open and there are drawstrings to keep the rest of the pads secure and hygienic.
=The Pads=
They are quite a good thickness for the price that I paid, and they have been used for different uses.
-Nail Polish Removal - 2 to 3 pads
-Eye makeup remover - 2 to 4 pads (4 pads if I use waterproof mascara)
-Cleanser - 2 pads
=Ease of use=
The pads separate easily when you get them out of the pack and generally I find that just one comes out at a time, out of the package there has only been 1 time that I had 2 pads come.
=End result=
Yes if they work ok when you start a task what are they like at the end, I have had some cheaper cotton wool pads that have fallen apart at first hold, but these are strong, especially when I am trying to get a dark coloured nail polish off it gets a good friction rub, but they stay intact, hold the liquid well and work really well.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend, they may be cheap but they do the job, and that is half the battle nowadays. I have brought some since and will keep using them. Read the complete review |

Tesco Everyday Value Cotton Wool Pads

I buy these cotton wool pads from Tesco. In the pack you get 100 and they cost under a pound so I think that makes them good value for money especially as they work perfectly well and do what I would expect them to.
They are small, round circles of cotton wool that are compressed into a disc. People use them for a variety of ... things concerning make up such as removing make up and applying various beauty products and things.
I previously used cotton wool balls but found that they were too big and because they are not compressed I would find bits of cotton wool would often come away and it could get messy when applying products. These are more practical for me.
I use these for a variety of purposes. When I had an infected ear piercing I found these were perfect to help bathe it. I would tip the salt solution over these pads and then hold it to my ear to apply it, they were really good at that because they are thin you can get them to small places like this delicately and because they are compressed they soak up quite a lot of formula so are very absorbent.
I also use these to apply some skin creams. When I apply toners this is what I tend to use now, they hold the liquid well and are smooth across my face, they don't leave bits of cotton wool behind. I also use these to remove nail varnish too.
Although these are cheap I don't think they lack quality. Yes they will rip if you pull them but I don't do that so they are fine! I think they are really good and do the jobs i need them to do really well for a good price. Read the complete review |
