My boyfriend bought me a mini brush set from The Body Shop a few months ago and out of all the brushes the eyeshadow brush was my favourite and the one that I used most often, which is why I recently decided to buy the full sized version.
This retails at £9.00, which I think for such an effecient and good quality brush is a very reasonable price and as long as I look after it (eg clean it regularly), I know that it will last for a while and stay in good condition. I was lucky enough to get mine while there was a half price discount, but I would happily pay full price if I ever need to re-purchase as I'm really pleased with it.
The brush is quite simple in appearence but it does look sleek and quite expensive. The handle is black and quite chunky and it has The Body Shop's logo written on the side of it in white writing. The rounded end is completely flat and the brush is able to stand upright which I like as this way I can keep it on my dressing table rather than in my make-up bag without worrying that the bristles will get all germy.
The upper part of the brush - the casing that holds the bristles in place - is silver and the bristles themselves are light brown. I find the light colour of the bristles handy when it comes to cleaning the brush as brightly coloured eyeshadow shows up easily. The brush is flat with a tapered head and large surface area. The synthetic bristles are extremely soft and smooth - almost silky. The bristles are firm which ensures neat application and they pick up just the right amount of eyeshadow.
The colour pay off is exceptional even with one swipe and the brush blends effortlessly as well. My eyeshadow always looks professionally applied as well as smooth and neat when I've applied it with this. The bristles are gentle against my skin and don't drag at all. The brush handle is easy to grip and control and although chunky in comparisson to a majority of eyeshadow brushes, it is lightweight. Although the brush picks up powder well, a quick tap gets rid of any excess, meaning I don't need to wash it quite as much.
I have had this brush since late September and I've used it almost daily. I've washed it once and the bristles are still amazingly soft and there's been no shedding at all. Overall, I love this brush and highly recommend it.
I give it five out of five stars.
Summary: 5/5
