Advantages: Fabulous scent, lovely natural colour

I bought the body shop liquid lip colour in number 2 'golden coral' which is a natural light brown shade. It contains marula oil (a moisturiser), vitamin E and passionfruit fragrance.

Packaging: The lipstick comes in an 8 mL tube with a sponge applicator. The tube is clear to allow you to see the colour and how much you have left, with a silver top. The sponge applicator is adequate and the small size gives you better control over the application.

Price: approx £10 at the Body Shop

Smell and taste: I love the smell of this product. It smells like passionfruit and the scent tends to hang around for a while. It is mostly tasteless, but is slightly sweet.

Finish: This gives my lips a hint of colour with a luminous finish. It is definitely not a bold colour, and is more of a natural result. It is not shiny and sticky like a lip gloss, but has a subtle pearly gleam to it.

End result: The colour tends to stay on your lips for at least a couple of hours. It moisturises your lips so the colour never cracks. You get the colour of a lipstick and the moisturising gleam of a lip gloss.

The Body shop does not test on animals, and has their own Fairtrade programme to ensure farmers get a fair deal.

Summary: The best of both gloss and lipstick worlds.
