“ Brand: The Body Shop / Type: Lip Balm / Suitable for: Lip / What it does: Enriches, regenerates, „
Ive had this product for absolutely ages now and Ive been meaning to suggest it to Dooyoo pretty much since I started so why I only got around to doing it a few weeks ago I cannot understand. Anyway I think I got this in a Bodyshop set the Christmas before last along with several other Rich Plum scented items (which I still havent reviewed) and I was dead chuffed with this. I absolutely love the other lipbalms from The Bodyshop, I think they smell great and they work wonders on your lips so I was hoping that this one would be just as good as the others I have tried.
This lipbalm actually is a little different to others because it has a shimmer in it. Now Im always wary about trying products that have glitter in them because Ive had several bad experiences with that type of product before but I dont think Ive ever had anything bad happen with a Bodyshop item before so I carried on getting ready to apply it.
Now I guess you could apply this with a lipgloss brush but I dont see the point if Im honest and its so much easier to apply it with your fingers and trust me a little goes a very long way with this lipbalm.
I found the results to be very good whilst using this lipbalm. The shimmer is VERY light and you can only see it when your lips catch the light so dont worry about ending up looking like a glitterball! Unlike most lipbalms this isnt greasy at all and it sinks into your lips quite quickly leaving them feel instantly moisturised and soft yet with a really light, pretty shimmer. If anything I think the shimmer actually enhances your lips and makes them look fuller and just the overall appearance & feel of your lips is wonderful after using this.
Now when I say that a little goes a long way with this balm I strongly suggest you take that into consideration. As Im talking from experience. If you put to much of this on it will not only make your lips look really greasy but it will make them look purple. Not full deep purple but there will definately be a slight tinge which just looks quite odd so I dont recommend applying loads of it.
Now although this balm does sink into your lips quite quickly it leaves them feeling soft and moisturised for hours afterwards so you dont need to keep re-applying it every 5 minutes. Id say this balm last about 4 hours before you need to apply it again which I reckon is quite good.
This really does help dry, chapped lips no end so I highly recommend it if you suffer with dry lips all the time.
I think this is around £4 from The Bodyshop which is okay value but Im going to give it 4 stars overall because although this is great I think I prefer the scent of other lipbalms from this range.
