The Body Shop Eye Definer Pencil
by CosmicLove
I am usually very impressed with The Body Shop products but this eyeliner isn't that good to be honest! I bought it about six months ago when it was half price (£4.50 instead of the usual £9) and I'm beyond glad that I didn't pay the full price!!
The pencil itself physically looks nice - it is simply designed but sleek and I ... like that it is a little longer than an average eyeliner as it makes it look more elegant if that makes sense and just a little more special. The pencil is black with contrasting silver writing on it which again adds to the slightly more expensive design.
The pencil comes with a clear, plastic lid to protect the nib and it also has a smudger on the end with it which is made from a soft foamy material and it is slightly pointed to make it more accurate. The smudger Los comes with a clear lid to keep it hygienic.
The nib itself when I first got it was really pointed and sharp looking so I found that I had to wear it down a little on some paper before I used it as I was worried I'd end up stabbing my self in the eye or something! Even once it was slightly worn down, the nib was still pointed though not so much so.
Due to this, application is very neat and rather than leaving a thick line on my lash line it is a very thin, neat and precise line - a little too thin for me so I find that I need to build it up, but unfortunately this doesn't really build up that easily unless I apply it at an angle. The eyeliner requires quite a lot of layers to be as thick enough as I like my eyeliner (which isn't very thick at all).
I've tried using the smudging brush a few times to blend it out and make it look a little messier which is the look I usually go for, but the blending brush is rubbish! It barely smudges it and it doesn't feel particularly nice against my lash line. When using the pencil i find that the hard nib drags on my lower lash line so I always need to wet it first else it is quite uncomfortable.
As for the lasting power it is excellent and the rich, black shade that I have stays an intense colour without fading to a lighter shade all day long, it is always just as black as it was when I first applied it even after 8 hours! It isn't too easy to remove so I need to use a decent amount of make up remover each time I need to take it off but this isn't a massive disadvantage.
All in all I am going to give this eyeliner 3 out of 5 stars. The hard nib and useless smudging brush really let it down however the lasting power is very impressive. Read the complete review |

The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver
by basketofbuttons
I use a lot of Body Shop products (when I can afford to buy them) and I always ask for Body Shop products as gifts at Christmas and birthdays. I have a few of the Body Shop Vitamin C products at the moment and one of the ones I like to use is their Vitamin C Skin Reviver. This is expensive at £14 for a small sized 30ml bottle but I was ... 'forced' to have to buy myself a bottle as I'd already sampled the smaller version of this in a gift pack from my lovely hubby.
My skin can look slightly drab and lack luster at times and I like to use this as it gives my complexion a lovely glow that lasts for hours due to its having light reflecting particles. I use this most days after I have cleansed and moisturised, though I use it sparingly as the bottle is rather small.
Though this product costs a lot of money, there's no need to panic as it lasts for ages due to the fact that I only need to use a tiny amount. A little goes a long with this product. The product comes in a plastic pump dispenser type bottle and it's sort of like a light serum in texture. I sue it over a light moisturiser and really it works for me personally by smoothing out any imperfections on my skin and making the perfect primer for my foundation. I makes my skin feel soft and smooth and I always swear is makes my make up last longer, so it does work out really cost effective in the long run.
Fragrance wise this is simply gorgeous. It smells of lemons and oranges mixed together and though I was expecting it to be quite heavy on the fragrance font, it's really not. It only has a very light citrus fragrance and this wears off quiet quickly once the lotion has dried onto my kin.
This is a real treat to use and lovely if you are wanting your make up to look perfect for a special day, such as a family celebration, party, wedding etc. A real treat and I highly recommend it. Read the complete review |

The Body Shop Lip Liner
by dooberry77
I have been using this lip liner for ages and I love it. It is perfect to line my lips and stops my lip colour from bleeding. There are 7 shades available from the range and the one that I am reviewing today is the shade Beech (02)
The packaging.
The product comes in the form of a pencil crayon. It is a brown colour with ... white writing on it and a silver plastic lid that covers the end of the liner to protect it. Along the pencil the Body Shop brand logo is clearly visible with the shade name and number underneath it. It also tells you that it is a lip liner. Along the back it tells you that the shelf life is 36 months, gives the weight (1.25g), some contact details for the brand and displays the FSC symbol (The Forest Stewardship council logo that identifies products which contain wood from well managed forests independently certified in accordance with the rules if the FSC AC.) The FSC promote responsible management of the worlds forests.
The product.
The lip liner itself is brown in colour. It has a smooth texture and is easy to use. To apply simply pull the lid off to remove and reveal the liner. Draw along the outer line of the lips and apply your lipstick as usual. This is great to use with peachy and pink lipsticks and I find only one application is needed. It gives a lovely colour and sometimes I use it to colour all off my lips rather than just a liner and add a little gloss over the top. It does not dry my lips out and helps to enhance my lips.
The benefits.
- 7 shades available
- Soft texture
- Reduces lipstick bleed
- Dermatologically tested
- Not tested on animals
- Can be used to line lips and as a full lip colour.
