“ Brand: Too Faced / Powder / Type: Bronzing Powder / Subcategory: Bronzer / Suitable for: Face / What it does: Bronzes, „
I must admit I bought this for the packaging about a year ago. The packaging itself is lovely and the set comes complete with a mirror and a really good quality kabuki brush which sealed the deal for me personally!
The palette contains three mini versions of Too Faced's top-selling bronzers; snow bunny, sun bunny and pink leopard. I hadn't tried these before and was disappointed that both sun bunny and snow bunny are both very dark on the skin, even when applied sparingly. Now this might be ok and darker skin tones but I am blonde, blue-eyed, fair-skinned etc and these two shades are definitely not for you if you have similar colouring. Pink leopard on the other hand wasn't too bad...not brilliant but it looks nice on a night out when you need a more dramatic look. I don't think I'd get away with it during the day though! All the shades are quite 'shiny,' they have an irridescence to them which, again, is ok for a night out but not to my taste for daytime.
My last gripe is the blendability of the product....it doesn't, well not very well anyhow. You have to work really hard not to end up with a stripe on each cheek which is disappointingm as I usually love Too Faced products. All in all a well-packaged product that calls out to be taken home but looking pretty is about all I could get out of it.
I had never tried any of Too Faceds products until i got this for christmas last year. Its a collection of their three best selling bronzers in a palette. Boots have it for about £20ish the last time i seen it. Each of the compacts on their own sell for about the same price but are much bigger. The palette also has a mirror inside and a little applicator brush called a flatbuki brush.
The packaging is really nice but a bit big for taking out in your handbag, its about the size of a cd case. The bronzers are Snow bunny, which has 4 strips of different colours, white, dark brown, baby pink and a kind of peachy colour. I think the idea of this one is to sweep the brush over it one way and apply it so the lighter colours are highlighting the top of your cheek (kind of like Benefits's 10 blusher). Snow bunny is just one half being light brown and the other half a bit darker. And Pink leopard is slightly smaller and is in the pattern of leopard print, with pale brown, a peachy colour and a pink colour. Snow bunny is described on the back as a skin perfecting winter bronzer, sun bunny a medium bronze and pink leopard being an illuminating tropical tan.
I have used them all as a bronzer but found them too glittery and they make my face look really shiny and even when i have a tan, that sun bunny is way too dark for my skin. Because of them being so glittery i now only wear them as blushers but they arent really nice colours when they are on. They look orange, even if i only put one sweep on and you cant see any of the other colours apart from the brown when its on. The worst thing is though, is that they all look the same when they are on so i dont really see the point of them having three bronzers in their range when they only suit one skin colour and type and are no different to each other. The brush thats included is quite nice and the bristles are really soft and are really gentle on your face. I have used this with other bronzers and blushers and it works well.
The packaging is so nice and its a good initial idea about having different colour included but it doesnt really work out and i doubt i wil finish using this because its more of a glitter powder than a bronzer.
