      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A bronzing compact powder from the Too Faced make up range.

On a recent trip to Boots I was momentarily astounded to discover they'd rearranged the beauty counters - in place of the Benefit counter was a new stand displayed the Too Faced range. Obviously curiosity got the better of me and I decided to have a little browse, with the intention of buying nothing at all...

      Too Faced

Too Faced is quite a recent introduction into the world of cosmetics, it was founded back in 1998 by two American men. Their initial aim was to introduce a colourful and quality ridden range of cosmetics into the beauty world that would make women feel that little bit extra special. Since the introduction of the brand it's quickly become recognised in America as being fun, quirky and trendy.

The brand name makes me laugh every time with it's target at the critical and false world we live in today. The products themselves have some fantastic names including "Mood Swing" lipgloss and "Tanning Bed in a Tube" fake tan. Their advertising slogan "Why be pretty when you can be gorgeous?" seems to be quickly becoming a hit among women worldwide!

      The Product

Caribbean in a Compact as you may well have guessed is a bronzing powder, designed to give you that Caribbean glow from a compact. It comes in a black circular compact which will withstand any battering it comes into contact with in a handbag. When you open it you'll find a mirror within the top half of the compact and the powder in the bottom half.

The powder itself is two different brown colours; one a lighter more shimmery brown and one a deeper more golden brown. They claim that the lighter colour will ensure any orangey hints will be banished, thank goodness! The powder itself doesn't really have a fragrance as such although it does come accompanied with that typical powder, slightly perfumed scent.

To apply simply dust a make up brush over the entire compact which will allow the two different shades to be mixed evenly together. Do be warned that if you just sweep your brush across the darker side this will result in you looking like you've been slightly tangoed! The best thing to do is apply it evenly over your face with a little extra on your cheek bones to define them.

It's probably not going to suit very pale people as the colour is quite intense, on the upside though I find I need to apply very little product to give me an overall bronzed glow due to the intensity of the colour. They do a lighter bronzer which is called Snow Bunny and incorporates a cream, brown and pink colour to give a much lighter but still warm effect so if you are fair skinned this might be a safer option for you.

      My Opinion

I've had this product for just over a month now and have been using it on a daily basis, the overall colour is a little dark so I do tend to mix it slightly with a foundation powder normally. As I say I use very little of it as I do find brushing my make up brush over the compact two or three times gives enough powder to cover the majority of my face. With this in mind I'd say the compact will easily last me a good three or four months with daily usage.

It's priced at £18.00 from Boots although there's normally a 3 for 2 offer or a 500 free points when you buy 2 items offer on the range which does save you a little. I would buy the product again I think, depending what else caught my eye at the time, the bronzed glow it gives does last all day unlike some bronzers which seem to fade as the time goes on. So for that golden glow this winter, get Too Faced!

      Thanks for reading.
