Faux Fur mascara
Ever on the look out for that elusive and perfect mascara, I recently bought this to see if it would indeed "deliver"!
~~What does it promise?~~
The mascara promises to condition and thicken lashes. In fact, it goes one further and assumes you have "thin and feeble" lashes, which it will miraculously transform into the lashes of your dreams.
~~Product and Packaging~~
The mascara itself is packaged in a little box, which is thankfully easy to open- no ripping and tearing required.
The mascara itself is in a normal mascara like tube, although it is slightly longer than the norm, because of the two wands. At one side of the tube is the white primer, which is fairly obvious, because it is white; at the other is the black mascara, again identifiable by the colour. The centre of the mascara is silver with the words "Electric Lash" written on it.
When I first used it, and because of the claims, I did expect something rather different to a normal mascara wand, but no, the primer want appears to be much the same as any other mascara I have used. On to the black, and again, there are no special twirly bit, just a normal mascara wand, although it has to be said that the brush parts are quite long.
When I apply the primer to my lashes it is quite thick, but not so thick that they look clogged, but rather so that my lashes, whilst looking a strange white colour, do start to look thicker. I think this is probably due to the fact that the primer actually sticks to lashes and so naturally makes them look thicker. Similarly, any bits which stick to the ends of lashes will make lashes appear longer. The black mascara, when applied then coats not only my own lashes but also the primer, which thankfully doesn't just wipe off when the black mascara is applied.
There are two steps to achieve the promised fake eye lash lashes:
Step one... apply 1 or 2 coats of the white primer to extend and thicken lashes
Step two... coat the lashes with the black mascara, making sure you do actually cover all the white from step one.
~~Price and Availability~~
The RRP is £11 but I bought this when buying perfume on line, and it cost £2.95, so do shop around for a good price.
Whilst I can't state that this gave me a false eye lash look, it is an effective mascara. It is easy to apply, and the primer really does coat lashes, giving the mascara something to grip on to and so give the illusion of thicker lashes. I do think that they look thicker as opposed to longer, but perhaps it does both.
It's not any better or worse than these dual applicator mascaras, and if I had paid the recommended retail price I might have been a bit disappointed, but for the price I paid, I was really pleased with the product. It does seem to be waterproof although this isn't stated on the product; I say it appears to be waterproof because of the trouble I have removing it!
A good mascara which does thicken lashes and although it's not quite false eye lashes, the finished effect is a good one.
Thanks for reading.
This mascara contains a primer at one end and a rich mascara at the other for the longest, thickest lashes you desire!
