Advantages: Snog proof, good pigmentation

Disadvantages: None

When it comes to makeup, I am a self confessed addict. I used to spend a majority of my 'makeup fund' on eyeliner, however I have recently started to move more onto building up my lipstick collection, as I have way too many eyeliners - plus I think that i've pretty much grown out of the 'can't go out of the house without eyeliner' stage now! I usually buy my lipsticks from MAC, as they're by far my favourite brand, however Topshop not long ago brought out a makeup range and I was curious to try all of the items out. I was very impressed with their eyeliner and lipstick so when I saw that they'd brought out a lip stain I didn't hesitate to pick one up.

These lip markers are designed to look like a felt tip, they're designed like a pen with a felt tip nib, which although isn't excactly original it's quite cute and also very practical as it's easy and quick to use - great for sticking in my hand bag and topping up whenever I feel I need it. The packaging is adorable; the pen casing is white with 'Lip Marker' written on the side in Topshop's usual font. The lid is the type that just pulls off and it's got numerous grey lines on it which I personally think is adorable. Once the lid is pulled off, the nib of the pen is exposed. This is a good size and it's slightly rounded at the end and it is just like a felt tip. The nib is well attatched to the pen meaning even when pressing it hard onto my lips it doesn't squidge or feel flimsy.

I love the design of the product as it's so easy to use and it's small enough to fit into my makeup bag and take up minimal space; handy for when i'm going to be staying over somewhere and need more space for my foundation bottle or palettes. There are three shades of this lip marker available, meaning there is a shade to suit everyone! Although i'm pale, I love the red lip look and so I opted for berry, which is a gorgeous dark, vampy red. This is one of the more popular shades and it sells out ridiculously fast, meaning it's hard to get another - I wish i'd picked up more!! The 2 other shades are hot shot - which is a post box red type of shade and popsicle which is a bright barbie type pink.

Applying this is very easy, it takes two coats until my lips are bursting with colour and it looks amazing, it's very well pigmented and you can tell it's good quality. I'd say on average it lasts for 2 hours, and suprisingly enough it doesn't need topping up after snogging, eating or drinking. It doesn't come off on my lips on my boyfriends lips either which is a huge plus side; no more nagging from him about me messing his face up haha.

The formula is lightweight as well as smooth and it's not an issue in getting onto my lips; the nib doesn't drag at all. I like that (unlike so many other lip stains) it doesn't highlight any cracks in my lips and it doesn't dry them out. It certianly isn't moisturisng but it's not drying at all. It goes on matte and I often wear a clear lipgloss over it for an extra pouty finish. I sometimes use it as a lip liner aswell as the nib is so accurate but a majority of the time I use it as it's meant to be used and fill my lips in with it - quite fun as it's like colouring them in with a felt tip, haha. There is no smell to the lip stain and it has a very slight sweetness to it which although isn't horrible, isn't nice either.

Price wise, each lip stain is £8, which I think is a good price. It's a good quality product with decent longevity, however i'm sure alot of people may think £8 is a little over priced. I've had this lip marker since November, and the nib has not dried out at all. I would overall reccomend the Topshop lip stain and I give it 5/5 stars.

Summary: 5/5!!
