      Very helpful

A good nail varnish which is great for parties/nights out.

I wanted a glitter nail varnish that I thought may look nice on its own but also painted on top of a plain coloured nail varnish too, as the only glitter based nail varnish I had at the time was a red one by Barry M which I think looks too Christmassy for the spring/summer time!

I was in Topshop in the MetroCentre where they sell their make-up range (not all Topshop stores do) and as I don't go there often I like to treat myself to some of their make-up products as my nearest Topshop doesn't actually sell them, and I have been impressed with the range so far. I noticed they had a glitter nail varnish available in three different colours - RAZZMATAZZ, which is a purple/blue colour as shown in the image above, and also the one I purchased, ADRENALIN, which is a pink colour and also ICE CRUSH which is more clear and a silver colour. They are all priced at £6 each for 8ml.

When I first applied this I done so by itself on my nails with no other colour. I found that the glitter didn't come out so much as I thought it would from looking at the bottle and so needed to apply two coats to make it stand out on my nails alone. This did not bother me as I often apply my nail varnish with two coats to ensure a stronger colour. It did take some time to dry as I found the glitter would still move around slightly on my nail when I touched it to check if it had dried after a minute or so. The glitter stayed on for almost two days before it started to chip away, but the great thing about this is that because it's glittery when it chips away it isn't as noticeable as a normal nail varnish would be. I could also just apply more nail varnish to the bits that had chipped away without the need to remove it all first and then reapply it.

The second time I came round to applying this nail varnish I wanted to on top of a pink coloured nail varnish. I found that removing the glitter nail varnish completely first took some time... glitter nail varnish can be a struggle to get off!
I applied one coat of pink nail varnish and waited for it to try and then I applied one coat of this glitter nail varnish, I loved the effect and the two colours actually went well together. I thought that by applying this on top of the pink it would also protect it from being chipped easily - but this was not the case. When it chipped it took both coats of nail varnish off. I also found that this could be removed much easier when on top of another nail varnish than it did when I wore it by itself.

I have since been on the Topshop where it states to apply a base coat then apply this on top, or wear alone, but then apply a top coat after. I usually apply a clear nail varnish on top of any nail varnish I wear but I did not think to with this, so next time I will do this and hopefully this will protect them from chipping as easily.

Overall I love this nail varnish as you can wear it alone or on top of another colour to make your nails stand out more. I now consider it an essential and would definitely purchase again when I have ran out or buy another in a different colour. This is available in Topshop stores that stock their make-up range and also on their website.
