When I first applied this I done so by itself on my nails with no other colour. I found that the glitter didn't come out so much as I thought it would from looking at the bottle and so needed to apply two coats to make it stand out on my nails alone. This did not bother me as I often apply my nail varnish with two coats to ensure a stronger colour. I wanted a glitter nail varnish that I thought may look nice on its own but also painted on top of a plain coloured nail varnish too, as the only glitter based nail varnish I had at the time was a red one by Barry M which I think looks too Christmassy for the spring/summer time! I was in Topshop in the MetroCentre where they sell their make-up range (not all Topshop stores do) and as I don't go there often I like to treat myself to some of their make-up products as my nearest Topshop doesn't actually sell them, and I have been impressed with the range so far.
