This like a lot of their products comes very pretty packaged, if a bit chunky . The product is a bit bulky and not really good for travel. Quite vibrant, its mainly purple with splashes of other colour. When you open it up it has 3d plastic butterfly's. Not as keen on those as I feel they just get in the way. The lid also has a mirror and a bit for qc cards- the idea being you scan them and it shows you how to create looks. I don't think I have ever used these .
This also comes with :
1.Portable speaker with keyring attachment. This is something I have not used much
2.Full sized 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion (black). To be honest I am a bigger fan of the pencil eyeliners they do but this does work really well. The product is a bit like a pen with a fine tip - great for creating a winged look.
3.Travel sized Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original. These tend to come out with a lot of the palettes. Great product for helping your eye shadow stay all day.
4.Travel sized Supercurl Curling Mascara Black. This was an okay "free" product I don't think I would purchase at full price.
This comes with 16 colours, 10 of which were new to this palette.
1.Baked This is a shimmering bright copper
2.Bender - shimmering dark mossy green
3.Blue Bus - bright blue with purple shimmer
4.Bust - taupe brown with subtle grey shimmer. Quite a soft finish this is good for highlighting brows.
5. Cobra - sooty black with golden shimmer
6.Crystal - light silvery blue with multi-dimensional shimmer. One of the more disappointing shades this one needs to be really packed on for it to show much.
7.Gravity - deep vibrant purple with multi-dimensional glitter
8Gunmetal (dark metallic silver with silver sparkle),
9.Hijack -greyish green with blue and green shimmer
10 Lost -shimmering dark brown
11.Midnight Rodeo - metallic medium brown with silver and gold glitter. .. not very much glitter though. This is in the 15 year anniversary palette,
12.Missionary - taupe with pink shimmer. Great for those days you want a nice easy/light all over the lid look. This has good colour payoff.
13.Sin - shimmering champagne with a nice frosted finish with a metalic sheen. A nice subtle colour.
14Zephyr This is a shimmering off-white. Great for the inner corners of eyes.
15Midnight Cowgirl This is a shimmering gold with gold sparkle . This has good colour payoff and is not unique to this palette.
16Skimp This is a shimmering ultra-light nude
**Do I recommend**
Its a nice palette with a good mix of light and dark colours. The colours themselves have great pigmentation.
Not for those who like matte shades as all of these have a bit of shimmer in them.
I picked up the Urban Decay Book of Shadows 4 for only £29.99 and there are plenty of sites who are currently selling it off at a similar price. For that price for 16 Urban Decay shadows, a full size 24/7 liquid eyeliner and travel sized primer potion and mascara it's an absolute bargain.
The eyeshadows in the set are:
Blue Bus - a metallic blue
Gunmetal - dark grey/silver
Cobra - Dark brown
Baked - bronze
Bender - Green
Gravity - Metallic purple
Lost - metallic mid brown
Hijack - metallic dark turquoise
Midnight Cowgirl - glittery metallic neutral
Sin - another glittery metallic neutral
Midnight Rodeo - Glittery mid brown
Crystal - light grey
Bust - matte grey
Missionary - matte beige
Skimp - matte cream
Zephyr - matte off white
The variety of colours is good with a mixture of neutrals, dark smoky greys / browns and a couple of fun colours. The liquid eyeliner is black as is the mascara and the primer potion is the original version rather than a coloured version.
The packaging is a little excessive and, like many of Urban Decay's sets, it is card board so not very hard wearing. The packaging includes a mirror and stand for your Iphone as well as a speaker (pointless) and a card with QR codes for tutorials on how to apply the make up. I haven't got an iphone so I haven't been able to access these tutorials but it's a nice idea.
