So happy I found this product, it has everything you need in one small box for perfect eyebrows. Recently I noticed my eyebrows were starting to blend in with my skin & as I have quite dark hair it just wasn't a good look lol, I absolutly adore Urban Decay makeup so when I saw they had this product in stock at my local Debenhams for £19.50 I had to try it.
The lady at the counter advised me to buy the Brown Sugar shade as the lighter shade can make your eyebrows a bit ginger in colour if you have brown brows. The little tool kit contains 2 brow powders, brow wax, mini tweezers, 2 angled brushes & 2 tiny mirrors. As soon as I got home I couldn't wait to try this product out, I used one of the angled brushes to blend the two shades together on the brush & started to fill in my brows (the powders are so silky & pigmented you only need a small amount on your brush) I was instantly impressed at how easy to apply this was as I'm a total novice when it comes to eyebrow makeup & was just as impressed at how natural & effortless my brows looked. I used the other angled brush to set my brows with the clear wax which was just as easy to use & held them in place perfectly all day. The only con to this product is that the tweezers arn't as good as full size ones & are difficult to pluck the precise little hairs but I didn't mind this & just used my full size ones instead.
I would definitly buy this product again, it's worth every penny I payed for it & excellent quality!
I suggested this product to Dooyoo as it's one of my most loved makeup items I own and I've been dying to review to let the world know just how good it is!
My mum gave it to me a few years as she had found it for about £6.99 on ebay, I'm not sure why she chose it for me as she has no interest in makeup at all and I'm very fussy with what I use but I was grateful none the less. I didn't use the box for a long time as I wasn't sure how to use it and thought my eyebrows were pretty good anyway. Plus it was the colour 'gingersnaps' which is aimed for fair haired people and I had/have brown hair currently bright red now, however it doesn't actually give you ginger eyebrows and is just the lightest shade. My friend bought one a few months after I received mine, at the full price of £17 (!), and really said it was amazing and explained how to use it so I gave it ago and it now part of my everyday makeup routine.
The box itself is nothing like any other makeup item I've seen, it's like an eyeshadow palette but deeper as there is a small compartment underneath. It is a quite a chunky size for a makeup product, like two matchstick boxes stacked on top of each other but as it's such an essential for me I can't complain. The box is a metallic dark grey with a purple, metallic embossed detailed square on top with urban decay written on it. The lid opens to reveal a mirror in the top and two shades of what look like eyeshadow with two compartments for a small brush applicator and mini tweezers. On the front side of the brow box is a smaller compartment with 'push' written on and when pushed, a small tray pops out to reveal some wax to keep your brows in place.
The brush is light purple with urban decay written on it (and hasn't worn away!) and the actual brush is slanted for precise application, the brush definitely looks worn but has not lost it's shape and is still as good as new. The tweezers also have urban decay written on them, they are not the best tweezers but can help with any major stray aways you happen to spot. The mirror is a cute idea but I never use it as it is so small and gets a little grubby from the powder inside. The lid closes firmly back over all this and everything is safe inside.
So onto the actual use of the product! You use the brush to apply either one of the two colours or mix up your own unique colour, then pat the brush to remove excess and basically just 'paint' over your eyebrows. You can get fancy and use the darker colour towards the end of you eyebrow and the lighter to add just a hint of colour but I tend to just use it everywhere. You then use your finger to rub the wax and then smooth over your eyebrows. Too much powder will make your eyebrows look heavy and too much wax will make them look too greasy so practise to get the right balance for you.
I absolutely love my brow box and would be lost without, I was luckily enough to get it at almost half the price but would happily pay full price of £17 because it is so good. Eyebrows can really change the whole face shape giving you a new look, I constantly get compliments on my eyebrows (ooo bit bigheaded haha) and asked what it is I use. I really would recommend this, especially over using a brow pencil as the effect is much softer and real looking as it fills the eyebrow in instead of draws it on so you don't end up with one of those 'scouse brows' or looking too drag queenish. ...Don't use this product if that's the look you're going for though...
I've use this item daily and still have more than half of the powder and wax left, the only downside is the wax has taken on a slightly brown hue from getting some powder mixed in from reapplying it and some stray eyebrow hairs get in sometimes (ew haha). However the product is so worth the money as it generally works really well and lasts for ever, this is the product I always talk about the most and recommend to everyone I know.
