Spend the £11 on falsies or another mascara and apply two coats!

At any time, for whatever reason, I always seem to have an eyelash primer in my makeup collection. But no matter what brand you buy they are always a disappointment- they take forever to apply and the results are negligable. They also always cost as much if not more than a normal mascara, the cynic in me would say that cosmetic companies are inventing products that consumers don't need purely to get more money out of them.

Unfortunately, Urban Decay Eyelash primer potion is no exception.
It is a white formula (which I never totally understand and you can never completely cover the white) which dries relatively clear. It has tiny fibres which build up to make lashes appear longer. This works until you apply mascara on top which then takes away the effect. The lash primer doesn't even help hold the curl in your lashes. The benefits of a lash primer are no better than simply applying a second or third coat of mascara.

I genuinely have no idea what this stuff actually does. The time is takes to apply, you would be as well applying a pair of fake lashes which would give exponentially better results.

Trust me... save your money and spend on something else!!

Urban Decay is one of my favourite cosmetic companies, I love their products. They have eyeshadow and lip primer and foundation primer, which I'm very fond of, so when I spotted their eyelash primer I had to try it as I love my lengthening mascaras and false lashes. The primer is said to be a lengthening, volumizing, fortifying mascara base. It will last about 6 months and a 9ml tube of this little wonder costs £10.50 from Boots (or online). Urban decay don't test on animals.

      ~PACKAGING and PRODUCT~
The tube itself looks like a normal mascara tube. It's a lilac colour with silver patterns on and the Urban Decay logo, and the tube is a decent size. It also comes in a cardboard box to protect it.
The primer is a thick and creamy consistency and white in colour. It does not have a strong smell. The wand enclosed is the same as any other mascara wand. All you do is apply it to your lashes before your regular mascara and voila!! Instantly thicker eyelashes! As you can imagine it looks a bit weird the eyelashes, like you've got white mascara on, but wait a few minutes for it to dry and work it's magic and you will be pleased with the result!

Urban Decay claim that it will look like you're wearing falsies. It won't. But it will make your lashes look a lot longer because the primer clings to the ends of them, thus lengthening them. Be sure to apply plenty of coats of mascara on top, as some white may show through from underneath if you're not careful.
I find the best way to use this primer is to apply it and after letting it dry, curl your eyelashes for maximum effect. Then, add some regular mascara on top (a few coats), curling in between. This results in stunning eyes!!
