Advantages: Easy to apply, nice texture, works great!!

Disadvantages: The top of the lid keeps falling off, slight design flaw which makes it tricky to open sometimes

This is a brilliant product and one which I had never given much thought to bothering with before until I was one day browsing around in a big Boots store and stumbled upon the Urban Decay stand. I have tried a couple of Urban Decay products before - and eye shadow and some of their eyeliners - and have always found it quite good stuff and their displays are always eye catching with the products in brightly coloured and unusual looking packaging. This particular product particularly caught my eye because of the lovely little lilac coloured bottle it comes in, which is made to look like a little bottle of magic potion!

This 'Eyeshadow Primer Potion' is designed to go on your eyelids prior to you applying your eye make up with the intention that it will help it grip better and therefore stay on longer. It provides a base for eye shadow to cling to, instead of the powder just being able to slide / waft off. It is very easy to apply and the sponge applicator is slightly bent to help, although I tend to just dot some onto my eyelids using the sponge applicator and then blend it in using my fingertip. I apply it prior to applying eyeshadow and eyeliner. It blends in really easily and feels slightly silky to the touch, it is a neutral beige-ish colour and once you rub it in you wouldn't know it was there.

I have found that this product works really well. I have definitely noticed that eye make up, particularly eye shadow, lasts much longer when I've used this primer. It is especially good for if you are using a particularly shimmery / glittery eye shadow, you know the ones that normally end up all over your face! It certainly helps a lot with that!

At a cost of about £14-£15 for a 10ml bottle it doesn't seem cheap but it does last such a long time, I've had mine for probably over a year, although I don't use it every day. So actually it is good value and a product that actually works is worth paying for anyway!

Summary: It works like magic!
