Hit or Miss (Urban Decay Lipstick)
Member Name: Serendipitous Spice
Advantages: wide variety of colors Disadvantages: inconsistency of quality
The worst thing about Urban Decay lipsticks is that you never know what to expect. Some of the colors are of excellent quality: Gash, for instance, has a great consistency, fabulous color, nice coverage. Yet some of the colors are, well, somewhat lacking: Frostbite, for one, is too thin and sheer to get good coverage with, so it tends to make your lips look fairly grey and splotchy. (If you do get stuck with one of those too-sheer colors, applying a few layers and blotting in between sometimes makes it look OK.) Your best bet is to buy it at a store where you can try it out first - buying it online is iffy unless you know for a fact what you'll be getting. The color descriptions on the Urban Decay site (www.urbandecay.com) are many times horribly off, so you may not even know what color you'll end up with if you rely on those. If you *want* a sheer color, the browns and pinks can give a quite nice natural look. The final verdict: be cautious and try to test before you buy. Summary: |
