      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Impossible to sharpen meaning 90% of this very expensive product ends up in the bin. I've even put this in the fridge overnight before attempting to sharpen it and it makes no difference at all.Complete waste of money and Urban Decay dont have a UK contact to complain to.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I wouldn't spend your hard earned cash on this!

I own an awful lot of eyeliner products. I can't imagine going on a big night out and not using any to define my eyes as I'd feel naked! I like different colours and formulations though as I have said on my reviews on this type of product many times before but I do prefer a kohl pencil as I just find it simpler, quicker and generally more simpler.

I adore Urban Decay make up and own plenty of it. Ok it can work out a bit pricey if you don't stumble across it in a shop like T.J Hughes as cheap as chips. With this I paid £2.00 for it but I nipped into Boots before I purchased it and it's usual price is about £8.81 and it comes boxed and in about 5 different colours. So yep I was happy I got a bargain!

      The Packaging....

As I said it comes in a long lilac box with darker lilac writing all over it. On the front I'm told it's Urban Decay, Smoke Out, Powder Eye Pencil (Crayon Poudre Pour Les Yeux) and the size is stated (1.16G, 0.041 US OZ). On the side of the box I'm told I'm told 'This amazing slim pencil defines with precision, imparting rich, smoldering color with a a powdery finish. With the attached blender, smoke out softens to a feathery edge like no other liner. Mesmerizing, smoky eyes just got easy'. On the back I'm given a list of ingredients, I'm told the product isn't tested on animals and is made is Germany. Finally on the other side of the box I'm told it's as 'Smooth As Silk' and there is a bar-code on there that peels off as it's a sticker.

The pencil itself is is incredibly long and the colour that is the colour you will be using on your eyes so it's colour co-ordinated. On there all in white writing I'm told it's Urban Decay 'Maui Wowie (my chosen colour), Smoke Out Eye Pencil and once again round the back I'm given contact details for Urban Decay and told once again it's made in Germany. At each end of the pencil there are long silver lids that pull on and off easily. One covers a pencil 'nib' surrounded in smooth wood and the other lid covers a small slightly pointy black sponge which is quite soft. All in all it's nice enough packaging and it's made to look like you get a lot of product when in fact you get a standard sized pencil really it's just the lids that make it look massive!

      Using It....

Well use it over eye make up such as eye shadow or underneath etc. Basically your meant to draw a line with it and if you wish use the sponge to create a 'smoky' look. Well as I say use it which ever way you want to cos in all honesty it doesn't work very well anyway lol.

Firstly some of this is due to my particular colour which in this case is a light brown. For me this doesn't define very well at all and isn't as high in colour pigmentation as I require anyway but that aside even if I sharpen it before every use I apply it the rims of my eyes and it's hard to get it to 'stick' on the eyes, colour transfer on the eyes is really hard work really.

I have to press it on to my eyes with some force and I have to sort of scrape it on opposed to wiggle it and transfer colour. It isn't moist in any way and is powdery and the more you press the more powder effect you get although once it is on it doesn't look powdery at all to be fair just a bit heavy. I find this all very difficult and quite annoying. If you want to you can of course use the sponge bit to soften the colour and I find this does soften the hard/harsh results I have got in a fuss free way to be fair. It just smooths it a bit but I wouldn't call it smoky or/and feathery.

      Overall...

A really disappointing product. It's hard to use it as it's so dry and if you don't use it in a few days, even with the lid on it seems to dry out a little. It easy to sharpen and it is easy to remove and it doesn't irritate when it's on the eyes but due to how hard it is to apply it and the fact that I have alot on to get any results my eyes do feel a bit gunged up. Not keen an wouldn't buy it again I'm afraid!
