Advantages: good moisturizer, makes my lashes look great without coating them with too many chemicals, works
Disadvantages: finger-lip application, made of petrol residue
-Availability-
Everywhere! Boots, Bodycare (for 75p which I thought was a really good deal), Waitrose, Your best mate's pencilcase...
-Packaging-
Cute little pocket-sized tin. It doesn't look like a lot of vaseline compared to the big cheap tubs you can get but it lasts for ages!
I like the green, mainly because green is my favourite colour and it gives off a kind of slightly sweet, edible smell
-Does it work?-
Yes! I use it mainly on my lips and lashes but occasionally on my nailbeds or anywhere, really!
-Application-
Finger, swirl, smear!
Feels kind of greasy and unhygienic (it is after petrol residue) but whatever, it works.
I put it on my lips (complete addiction since i was, like, 10- I swear I've got some form of lipbalm smeared on my lips 24/7)
And my lashes! Sounds strange but it does, actually, work. It moisturizes your lashes, making them thicker and less breakable and loads of people claim that they actually make your lashes longer! Great!
With that, what I do is I curl my lashes (if I'm going out) and I put some on my eyelash comb or a clean mascara want and put it on the same way I would do mascara. I don't put it on at night though because it gives me puffy eyes
-Advantages-
Works wonders! Gives your lips a shiny look- although not quite the gloopy shine a lipgloss provides.... Some boys can't tell but being too-familiar-for-my-own-good with cosmetics, I certainly can!
The lashes thing is a definite plus, and the mobility of this little jar makes it really easy to moisturize bits of your skin when you're bored at school.
The availability is also great. It is literally everywhere I can find it in some good co-ops, every drugstore I step into and in waitrose! So not too hard to get your hands on if you've got a lipbalm emergency
I don't think this product is tested on animals, a definite Plus!
The Aloe Vera (green) has no SPF!
The SPF (yellow) does not smell edible and yummy!
Guess I can't win, can I.
-Disadvantages=
Not very natural. Because it comes in a healthy looking tub and the fact that our mothers use it doesn't make it natural. It's cleaned residue from petrol manufacturing. Kind of gross if you think about it but I don't really think about this kind of thing, and it doesn't really make a difference to me.
Feels like lip grease. And when you use up all the jelly you're left with a bit of grease at the bottom and when I use it I feel like I'm de-greasing a pan or something...
Also the finger-to-lip application isn't the most civilised/hygienic (germs and such)
-Conclusion-
Great product! Very classic and everyone's used it at one point or another. There are like a million uses for vaseline although this claims to be 'lip therapy'. Taking off your make up when you're at a sleepover or something, for example...
Good to have around.
Summary: Works, has about a milion uses and good to carry in your pocket!
