Advantages: Moisture for lips
Disadvantages: Need to keep using it, slimy, greasy
Vaseline lip therapy with aloe vera has been a long time coming. Vaseline used to do only the Vaseline lip therapy, this came in a blue tine container. It was good, but with aloe it's even better.
Now you have the option of added Aloe Vera, which comes in the some tin container just in green not blue.
The tin itself holds 20 grams of Vaseline. It is a convenient size and fits just about anywhere. I have one in my handbag, desk draw and car. The lid actually pulls off, it's not a screw lid but works well at containing the Vaseline.
The main ingredients are: Petrolatum, Aroma, Isopropyl Myristate, Aloe, Citral and a few lesser ones too.
Vaseline is basically a form of Petroleum jelly that can be used as a moisturiser, its manufactures say it soothes dry skin and lips.
I like Vaseline because it works, if I have dry skin, I mainly use this on my lips, I put a small amount on my finger, rub it on, and let it soak in, it does. It leaves my lips feeling softer, and moisturised. Obviously not for too long, and I find myself doing this again.
I would recommend Vaseline over other lip products because it isn't scented, except to smell like Vaseline and Aloe (or not, if it's the blue tin).
The jelly is transparent when on your lips but in the tin it looks a weird, yellow/beige colour. It is quite slimy and a bit greasy too. The jelly isn't runny.
Summary: Good traditional moisturiser

- 12/06/09 I nicked my wife's pot the other day - pity it's Rose and Almond oil version because it comes in a girly-pink tin :-( |
