*Introduction*

I always like to care for my lips as they tend to be dry a lot of the time. It is possible that this is due to the ferocious air conditioning that I am subject to at work which is why I bought Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera. When at school I used to wear Vaseline Lip Therapy and loved it. In recent years although Vaseline Lip Therapy has always had a place in my make up bag, I have turned to lip glosses and lip sticks. I decided to go back to basics with Vaseline Lip Therapy and opted for the one with Aloe Vera to sooth my lips. The tin now sits in my drawer at work so that it is available and at hand to use, as and when necessary.

*Application*

The use of this lip therapy is very simple, once you have opened the tin. Sometimes this can be a little tricky but once you get the knack of opening the tin you will be fine. When the tin is open, slide a small amount of the product onto your finger. Only a little of the product is required as a small amount goes a long way. If you apply too much, it will look give you a very greasy look on your lips. Not a desired look, believe me. Then glide this onto your lips and hey presto, you're done. Your lips will be cared for and soothed as well as having a clear shine to them.

Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera is sold in a number of different shops including Boots, Superdrug and Wilkinsons. You will also find it on the shelves of most supermarkets. This product can be bought for the very small price of £1.15 for a 20g tin. This is an amazingly low price for what I believe is a staple beauty product. And what is so great about the product is the fact that it seems to last what seems like an eternity.

*My Opinion*

The packaging: Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera comes in a small (pocket-sized) tin. The size is fantastic as it fits perfectly into a purse or pocket without taking up a great deal of room. I personally struggle with the opening of the tin at times but the more and longer that I have used it, the easier it has got. I would, for this reason, not recommend the product to those that have difficultly with things that are fiddly to open. It will really frustrate you and perhaps you won't be able to open it at all. On the plus side, the fact that the lid is such a tight fit mean you don't need to worry about the lid coming off in your bad and covering all your belongings in Vaseline! Every cloud has a silver lining I guess.

As for the actual design of the tin, I really like it. It is retro and funky looking and is a gorgeous green colour. There is not another product that I know of that is similar to it, so it is completely unique.

Colour, texture and smell: The colour of this is yellow with a slight tinge of green. This sounds a little disgusting and not like something that you would want to put on your lips but don't let it put you off. The colour that is transferred onto your lips is clear. When applied to your lips, you are left with a lovely shine. The texture of the lip therapy is greasy, jelly-like and soft. This makes it easy to apply and leaves your lips looking lightly glossed.

As for the smell, it is pleasant and subtle. You can smell the aloe vera slightly, but it is certainly not overpowering in any way. There is no taste in the lip therapy which you have with some others, whether this is good or bad depends on if you like your lip balm to have a taste. If you dislike the aloe vera in the product, there is an original plain version available which is just as good.

Staying power: The purpose of this product is not to make them look glossy or shine. Neither is it to stay on your lips for a great deal of time but it does so quite well. I would estimate that it stays on your lips for well over an hour.

Does it sooth and care for your dry lips? Yes, it definitely does. Your lips will almost instantly feel moisturised and cared for. The lip balm soaks into your lips and leaves them feeling significantly softer and they look a lot more improved.

Longevity of the product: Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera will last you a long time. I have had my tin for around 6 months and I have probably used just over half of the tin. And this is me using it several times whilst I am at work. I think you'll agree that it is not bad!

*Would I Recommend This Product?*

I would unquestionably recommend Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera. Anyone like me who suffers from dry, chapped lips will gain immensely from this product as it does what it claims it will in soothing and caring for your lips. It is also a product that both genders can use. Men will not be afraid to use this product as it is clear and the packaging doesn't single it out as being aimed at females.

It is an essential item for anyone's make up bag. What I like most about it is the fact that you can not only use it for soothing your lips, but numerous other things as well. For example, you can apply it to your eyelids as an eye shadow to give them shine or along your eye brow to make your eyes look bigger. And I don't know what I would do without this product when I get a cold. You know when your nose has been blown a ridiculous amount of times and feels very sore and tender. I dab a small amount around the area to gentle soothe the skin.

*Overall*

On the whole, this is a superb product that is relatively cheap in price with maximum effect. It is perfect for men and women and perfect to solve the problem of dry lips. If you decide to purchase this magical little tin, I guarantee that you will not regret it!
