Advantages: Cheap, effective, simple
Disadvantages: None for me
One thing I really dislike is when my hands feel dry and wrinkly. I may not have the most beautiful hands and nails in the world, but I do feel uncomfortable if they are rough and dry, and very self conscious about them if they have got into a poor state.
Housework, being outdoors in the cold and wind - even just feeling under the weather, all have a detrimental effect on my hands.
My Mother always had a tub or tube of handcream on the go when I lived at home, so I have always used a handcream to counteract the prunelike feeling that I get. However, over the years I have struggled to find one that suits - many are just too greasy, or take a long time to absorb. I am busy - and that means I need something that I can apply quickly, and get back to whatever I am doing without leaving a greasy residue on my keyboard, or whatever. And of course, like any beauty "essential" the prices that some brands are charging is quite staggering.
So, hurrah for Vaseline Healthy Hand and Nail Lotion! This amazing product has been part of my routine now for several years. Available in most chemists, such as Boots and Superdrug, and the main supermarket brands, this lotion is easy to find, so there is never any reason for not having some to hand (excuse the pun).....
The picture above, shows a large pump bottle, but this is also available in a 75ml tube, costing under £1, which is the perfect size to have in your desk draw at work, in your handbag for when you are out and about, and of course, one tube upstairs, and one downstairs at home.
Vaseline is a household brand that I have always associated with simplicity - and this is how I feel about this product. It has a very clean and fresh fragrance to it, and is not highly coloured, so feels very natural.
This is a Hand and Nail lotion, rather than a pure hand creme, and contains Keratin, which helps to strengthen nails, together with milk proteins (I always associate calcium with nails, so I guess this makes sense!).
It also contains vitamin E - an excellent vitamin to help counteract the aging process - I would like to think that my hands are still quite "young" rather than those of a middle aged woman, so I consider vitamin E to be an essential!
All in all, this is a simple hand and nail lotion that is excellent value for money. I find that it is non greasy and easily absorbed into my skin, which is great for applying "on the go".
I would definitely recomment that you try this product - after all, if you don't get on with it, you have wasted less than a pound, but if you do get on with it, you will save yourself a fortune over the coming years!
Summary: Excellent value for money - I can't fault it.
