Advantages: Absolute miracle in a tin
Disadvantages: Can't think of any!
Vaseline has been around longer than my nan, which is saying something! It's a product probably everyone has used or at least heard of. The original product, a tub of petroleum jelly is well recognised as the packaging hasn't changed at all in the years. The brand name however has, you can now buy all kinds of creams, lotions and potions all carrying the Vaseline name.
Lip therapy comes in three varietys, you have the standard blue one, which is just ordinary vaseline, the green one which has soothing aloe vera and the yellow one which has an spf of 15 to protect your lips from sun damage. All three retail at around 98p for a small pocket size tin.
I personally prefer the aloe vera version, it actually smells soothing but has no taste when used on your lips.
I suffer from chapped lips in the winter and I have used almost every lip balm on the market and paid up to £5 for some of them! I can honestly say that Vaseline is the best one I've tried. It seems to last forever and keeps my lips kissably soft all year round.
Unlike most other lip products, Vaseline is multi-purpose too, whenever I get a dry patch of skin I put some Vaseline on it and in the morning my skin is back to normal. I use a little bit on my eyebrows to keep them under control. If you get a cold, put a coating of Vaseline on your nose to soothe and protect it from all the tissue using... you may have a shiny nose, but at least it won't be sore! If dying your hair, put some around your hairline to save yourself from staining your skin... the list is endless!
I absolutely swear by this product and at 98p there is absolutely no reason why everyone shouldn't have this tin of magic!
Summary: A gem of a product!

- 24/02/08 Kissing a cow's backside is apparently very good for chapped lips. It doesn't cure it but it does stop you lickin' 'em. |
