I think the Vaseline people must have hit the jackpot with their profits when someone came up with the idea of selling Vaseline in those little tins. I know when I first spotted them, I had a real 'What a great idea' moment and then swiftly went to pay for my little blue tin.

It's such a simple product but I truly believe it is the best product to use on dry or chapped lips. I have tried loads of different makes and types of lipsalve but Vaseline is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest. There is no gimmick, no fancy packaging or strong fruity smell and it doesn't need it as the Vaseline itself does the job.

I now always keep a little tin of the stuff in my handbag and it is used on a daily basis, especially during the cold winter months. It is also cheaper than most other brands of lipsalve costing only 84p for a 20g tin which seems to last for ages.

Vaseline also had numurous other uses and one tip I can personally recommend is using a little on your fingertips to smooth and tidy your eyebrows, it does give them a really sleak look. I also use it if I have any really dry patches of skin, usually on my hands and it you use it overnight, my morning these areas are usually much softer.

So to sum up... so simple but so effective!
