Advantages: Super, versatile product

Disadvantages: Tin is difficult to open

*Introduction*

When at school I used to wear Vaseline Lip Therapy all the time and absolutely loved it. We weren't allowed to wear a lot of make up so Vaseline Lip Therapy was one of the few that was subtle yet effective and that we could actually get away with wearing. Ever since I first used this original version of this product, a tin has always been in my bag, whether it has been the original, aloe vera or rosy lips.

*About the Product*

Vaseline Lip Therapy soothes dry skin and lips. This Original version has long been a firm favourite in handbags and pockets.

*Application*

If you are able to get the lid off of the tin then the application of the product is easy. Slide a little of the product onto your finger and then apply it gently onto your lips or skin. Only a small amount is required or you'll find you have a greasy shine on your lips.

*Price and Availability*

Vaseline Lip Therapy can be purchased from numerous different stores including Boots, Superdrug and Wilkinsons. You can also find it in the majority of supermarkets. Alternatively, you can visit www.boots.com and buy it via the internet.

This product can be bought for the extremely low price of £1.15 for a 20g tin. The price can only be a positive thing as it is so cheap that even if it was a duff product, you wouldn't begrudge just chucking it out.

*My Opinion*

The packaging: Vaseline Lip Therapy is packaged in a small tin, the perfect size to sit nicely in your handbag or even in your pocket as it is petite and takes up very little room.

Like the aloe vera version that I have also review, I adore the design of the tin. I think that it looks trendy and retro in appearance and is a bright royal blue colour. Unfortunately, it isn't all that practical to use as the opening of the tin can be challenging at times, especially when it is new and stiff. This leads to me not recommending it to anyone that struggles with opening things as my nan bought it but ended up giving it to me as she just couldn't manage the opening of the tin.

Colour, texture and smell: The colour of this is completely clear. When you apply this to your lips, you are left with a lovely sheen. As for the texture of the lip therapy, it is greasy, but not overly so, jelly-like and soft. This means that it is very easy to apply and leaves your lips looking lightly glossed.

As for the smell, well I can't say that there is much of one. Certainly not one that is noticeable or unpleasant. And there is very little, if no taste to the lip therapy but if you would prefer a taste, I suggest you opt for the aloe vera or rosy lips versions

Staying power: The sole purpose of Vaseline Lip Therapy is to soothe lips and skin therefore my expectations of its staying power were relatively low. I was surprised to find that it actually lasts a fair amount of time and leaves your lips with a lovely sheen. I would take a guess and say that this stays on your lips for approximately two hours, strangely longer than the aloe vera version.

Does it sooth dry skin and lips? There is absolutely no doubt that it fulfils this claim. When it comes to applying this product to your lips, you lips will feel instantly feel soothed and cared for. This lip therapy soaks into your lips and will leave them moisturised and feeling a lot softer and you will notice an improvement in the appearance of your lips if they were dry and peeling.

Longevity of the product: Vaseline Lip Therapy will remain for what will seem like ages. It is quite annoying in a way because once you have had the product in your handbag for a long time, it gets scratched and looks old but inside, you will still have a lot of the product left, in as good a quality as the day that you bought it. I use it several times a day and a tin tends to last me just over a year. How impressive is that for £1.15!

*Would I Recommend This Product?*

There is no doubt in my mind that I would recommend Vaseline Lip Therapy. It is perfect for anyone that is looking for a product that will solve your problems of dry skin and lips. I would recommend it for people of all ages as I think it is a timeless item that you can use from your teens all the way through to you old age. And guys can use this product too. Not that there is any rule to say that you can't use lip glosses and lip sticks but I know plenty of men who openly use Vaseline Lip Therapy.

Vaseline Lip Therapy is one of those products that I deem absolutely essential. There are four different versions of the product and at any one time, I usually have at least two of the varieties in my make up bag. It is a versatile product that can be used for numerous things. As well as applying it to your lips, you can apply it to your eyelids as an eye shadow to give them shine or along your eye brow to make your eyes look bigger. And it is the ultimate product for those times when you get hit with a cold. After blowing your nose all day, this is ideal to dab onto your nose to gentle soothe the skin.

*Overall*

All in all, I think that this is one of the best purchases that you will ever make if you decide to buy this Vaseline Lip Therapy. It is an outstanding product that is unbelievably cheap. I believe it is an essential item that everyone should own as it can be used for a number of different things and with maximum output! It is complete and utter value for money.

Summary: A great item to solve dry areas on skin and lips
