Advantages: Handy to carry, cheap, effective, varieties - original, aloe vera, tinted, SPF, lasts a long time

Disadvantages: Tin may rust, product can melt

Vaseline is a product that has been around for such a long time and is really quite versatile for its uses. Vaseline Lip Therapy is primarily used as a lip moisturiser but can be used for dry skin. Maybe areas such as elbows which can be much more dry than your normal skin and need a bit more of a richer and more intense moisturisation.

Colour:
Vaseline is typically as yellow coloured jelly which appears clear on the lips. However, a tinted vaseline is available and is a pink colour.

Extras:
Over the years vaseline have created a variety of Vaseline. There is the original, an aloe vera vaseline, a tinted vaseline and an SPF vaseline.

Packaging:
The lip therapies come in the classic round, metal tin which has a simple slide off lip. The original vaseline can be found in the blue and white tin, the aloe vera version in a green and white, the tinted version in a pink and white and the SPF version in a yellow and white tin. Therefore, if you bought them all they are easily identifiable from the other.

Price:
These little tins are priced between £1-£2 and can even be bought as a gift set from Superdrug. This includes one large vaseline tin and inside are 4 of the small, but regular sized, tins. I believe this gift set includes a variety of the variations I have previously listed.

Coverage/pigmentation:
The only Vaseline which has pigmentation is the tinted version which simply gives a light, perky pink tint to the lips, without being too heavy.

Scent:
The scent of the different variations differs slightly. This is more noticeable when you compare the aloe vera version. However, none of the scents are distasteful and opinions will definitely vary. However, there is no scent that puts me of these products.

Does what it says?:
Yes, Vaseline is moisturising and your lip do feel smoother and softer. However, I will say that there are some other lip care products that I do prefer, like Carmex. Yet it does work perfectly well and does what it aims to do!

Easy to remove:
The product is very easy and simple to remove. It is not designed to have staying power which therefore means that reapplication will be frequent, especially if you want to maintain the moisture levels of your lips.

Conclusion:
This is a good, handy product which fits perfectly into any make up bag or bag. It can even fit into pockets so is handy to carry around. It is well priced and lasts for a very long time so there isn't even any need to keep paying for a product you love. The only disadvantage I can think of is that the tin can rust and the product melts easily if exposed to warmth and heat.

Summary: Useful!
