Advantages: Gorgeous smell, tastes nice, lovely tin

Disadvantages: Only that its limited edition!

In this colder weather, I always like to have a lip balm with me, especially when I'm working at school and am out in the cold on the playground with the little ones for many hours of the day. I find because I'm constantly talking, my lips tend to get very dry and they do need something to protect them. Usually, I prefer a stick type lipbalm as its more convenient for me to apply, especially at school and doesn't involve getting messy fingers. However, when I saw this lip balm in Boots the other day, and also advertised on Facebook as well, I couldn't resist because it sounded gorgeous!

Vaseline Lip Therapy are a well known range of lip products famously availalbe in small round tins. There are several varieties including the original (blue), aloe vera (green), cocoa butter (brown), rose blush (pink) and now this limited edition variety, called Créme Brulée. It comes in a cream and brown tiny, with the darker half at the top with the Vaseline name on, and the lower half being cream with the title of this product on it. It's a lovely looking little tin, and certainly looks a little bit special. Now, I will start by confessing I have never had Creme Brulee, so I can't comment on how much it actually tastes like one but I'll do my best to say if it's any good or not!

The tins aren't sealed with any plastic at all, so do make sure when you buy one that it hasn't been "tested" by anyone in the shop. When you lift the lid off, you can instantly smell the sweet scent of the Creme Brulee, and I think it actually smells quite like honey, very sweet but not unpleasantly so. It is the same colour as the original one, that sort of clear yet cloudy look with a quite matt surface until you touch it. To apply this lip balm, you have to move your finger across the surface to pick up the product, and then smooth it across your lips. Once you get the product warm with your finger, it moves about quite easily, yet isn't too greasy either. On my lips, it looks nice and shiny, again not coloured, but gives a nice sheen to your lips.

As for the taste, it's lovely! As I said, I have never had creme brulee myself, but it has a very sweet taste about it, not horribly so but enough to be really nice when you happen to taste some as always happens when you wear something on your lips. The nearest thing I could liken it to is honey, but with a hint of something more about it too. I find my lips are really soft after using this, and it feels like it is a very good moisturiser, really protecting them from the wind and cold weather. Its nice to know that it does leave a bit of a sheen too, as I don't like to wear lip gloss or any coloured products on my lips during school hours. As for longevity, it doesn't stay on an especially long time, when you're talking etc it does tend to wear off a bit quicker, but that feeling of moisturised lips does stay even after it's disappeared itself, and so does the taste for a while too. I don't mind reapplying this frequently though, the scent is lovely, and it doesn't leave my fingers greasy after applying it either.

As this product is Limited Edition, I don't know how long it is going to be available in the shops for, and it's already starting to go on Ebay for ridiculously inflated prices. Therefore, if you like the sound of this and it seems like something you'd like to use yourself, hot foot it down to the shops asap and grab yourself one, it's definitely worth the £2.99 price tag, and is a lovely little treat for winter, and easy to pop in your pocket or handbag to use as and when you need it. As I said, I usually prefer stick lip balms but I am loving this at the moment, and hope it doesn't run out any time soon! It's a fab product, especially throughout winter, to give your lips a bit of a treat, and the bonus is the lovely taste of the product too! If you're a fan of the normal Vaseline tins, then you're going to love this one! Grab it while you can!

Available from Boots, Superdrug, Sainsburys and other beauty stores for an RRP of £2.99.

Thank you very much for reading.

Summary: A great little lip product for winter time
