Vichy Tinted Moisturiser - My First Choice

      Product:

Vichy Lumineuse Tinted Moisturiser Normal to Combination Skin

      30ml

Vichy is my favourite brand of sun lotion, they also develop and sell a range of skin care products and tinted moisturisers, indeed it was a tinted moisturiser that originally introduced me to the brand many years ago.

As I have got older and my lifestyle has changed I tend to now wear foundation most of the time. However, during the summer months and on holiday I tend to fall back to a good old tinted moisturiser. The version I am currently using is Vichy Lumineuse 01 and it suits me rather well.

      To Use:

After cleansing and toning the skin I apply the lotion in smooth upward and outward circular motions using my fingers. I like to start with the sides of my face, then do my forehead from side to side and sweeping upward motions to ensure the tint has blended evenly, finishing with my nose and loosing the tint under my jar line last of all.

      Advantages:

The moisturiser is lovely to use, it smoothes on easily and is quickly absorbed, leaving a matt natural looking finish on my face. Vichy ensure that the product has UVA and UVB filters for added protection and that the tint gives a natural appearance. Made with natural spa water, the moisturiser is very pleasing to use.

      Disadvantages:

When I first started using Vichy Tinted Moisturiser the colour range was larger and my spring face was suited to the lightest colour, these days they have reduced it to three shades and even the lightest is slightly on the darker side for me for it to look really natural. Do still achieve a barely there look, but can no longer achieve the no make-up make up look that I could with the lighter shade that would give the impression that I had naturally flawless skin. I can get round the shading issue though by mixing a little with a teaspoon of another moisturiser to about a tablespoon of Lumineuse and as long as I mix it well that does work. However, to be honest it is easier to just use foundation a bit longer.

      Wearing the Tinted Moisturiser:

I do, however enjoy using the Lumineuse, it does "lift" my complexion and is such a nice product to use, the fragrance is soft and subtle, typically Vichy quite pleasing but not a fragrance I can easily describe other than to say it is clear, soft and fresh. The moisturiser is light and lovely to use and with continual use leaves my skin soft and nourished. I first started using the Normal to Combination when I had combination skin, now my skin is more normal to dry, I still find it works really well at pampering and protecting my skin.

As mentioned I have found success using the darker shade 01 in the spring by mixing with a little plain moisturiser, generally when I wear the tint, I don't use powder, however I have also experimented with using face powder, which also lightens the moisturiser tint. Once I have a bit of a tan, I utilise the Lumineuse to create a healthy skin appearance and as mentioned still use it to this day, it works well with a little natural eye shadow, mascara and a hint of tan style bronzer.

      Packaging:

The tube is a typical squeezy plastic top down tube and has text in French and English, the colour identity is at the bottom and easy to spot in a hurry. Vichy state on the tube that "Vichy Lumineuse - Sheer radiance tinted moisturiser that provides a natural healthy glow. Rich in vitamin A + provitamin B5 to enhance skin radiance and moisturise the skin." When you buy the tube it is enclosed in a cardboard outer in cream with pale peachy effects and the Vichy logo at the top and a V shaped satiny picture that depicts tinted moisturiser.

      Conclusion & Stars:

I have remained fairly loyal to Vichy Tinted Moisturiser and have returned to it time and time again, through name changes, colour changes and despite my aging skin. I would certainly recommend this product very highly to younger readers who want to achieve a healthy natural look. The quality of the moisturiser does ensure that your skin is nourished and healthy, whilst the Sun Protection protects your skin for general ware. Thus making this a 3 in 1 product in most UK situations. Ie you would not need separate, moisturiser, tint/foundation and sun protection. However, when I wear this on sunny days when I am outside a lot or overseas I always use a Vichy facial sun lotion as well.

Four out of Five stars because it is very good, but the smaller colour choice range is disappointing.

      Price and Availability:

I used to always buy mine in France, as it was noticeably cheaper there, however, these day's I buy from Boots or have even purchased from eBay to get the old 00 colour. Priced between £10.50 and £12.75. I believe £12.75 is the RRP.
