A practical and attractive compact with lip and eye colour suitable for day and night.

Bewitching Colour Collection comes in an attractive purple compact with flowery designs on top. It looks pretty and it's got a secure clip down lid which makes it safe to carry in a bag.

Inside there's a mirror in the lid, and two levels of makeup. In the top level there are two eye creams and two powder eyeshadows. There is also an applicator with a lip brush on one end and an eyeshadow sponge on the other.

The eye creams come in gold and a creamy pale gold. Both have a subtle sparkle. I use the gold as a main colour and the pale gold as highlighter. They are both easy to apply with a finger and blend in well. These are good colours for daytime as they are soft subtle shades. I find they wear well and don't crease into the eyelid.

The powder eyeshadows come in a darker bronze shade and a pale gold. I don't usually wear powder eyeshadows as I have sensitive eyes and don't like little specks of powder getting into them. However these are quite creamy when applied and don't scatter powder around. They both have a shine to them, more suited to evening wear.

To get to the bottom level you just tilt the lid back further and it lifts the top level. In the bottom level there are four lip colours and a lip pencil. The lip pencil is a subtle gold/brown shade, almost flesh coloured when applied, so doesn't give the impression of having drawn-on lips. In the lip colours, there's a dark red/brown shade which doesn't have any shine to it, but is quite long lasting. It does have a slightly drying effect though, so needs a lip shine on top. The other three are shiny: one is a coppery shade, one is a light brown, and one is clear with sparkles. These could all be worn alone or used as a top coat for the first colour.

Overall it's an attractive compact which is great for carrying around in your bag or taking on holiday. The make up is nice quality which doesn't cause any eye irritation. The one complaint I have is the lip brush, which is poor quality and difficult to use accurately. It's probably a good idea to put your own lip brush in.

I've got coppery coloured hair and brown eyes, and the shades in this compact are ideal for my colouring.

Bewitching colour collection sells for £15.50 at Virgin Vie.
