“ Brand: Virgin Vie / Type: Eyeshadows / Subcategory: Colour „
It is worth mentioning that Virgie Vie At Home, previously Virgin Vie Cosmetics has now changed its name to Vie At Home as it is no longer part of the Virgin branded Richard Branson empire.
I have been using Virgin Vie products for well over 5 years now and have only been disappointed with a couple of purchases I have made, so I keep going back. I love my cosmetics and am more than happy to indulge myself from time to time in a treat!
The Boudoir Of Colour is no longer available on line, but you may be able to pick one up on ebay or from your Vie rep at more than likely, a discounted price. When I got mine they were selling at £22.50.
The palette is magnetic and folds out (similarly to a tri-folded letter / piece of paper) flat. The middle section is removable from the palette to be kept in your handbag / travel bag. It has a mirror and space for some of the smaller removable individual make-up palettes. The left and right side of the palette holds 10 eyeshadows and highlighters; whites, creams, pinks, purples, greens and browns; 8 lipsticks, pinks, peaches, reds and browny tones; along with blushers and crème highlighters. The individual palettes are removable and are contained within a foam pads, which you would simply pop into the removable compact. There is a colour suitable for most skin tones. The palette is provided with lip brushes, eyeshadow applicators and a blusher brush and there is plenty of space both within the palette and the removable compact to store these.
I would actually really like a second one as mine is over in France (at my parents house), as it was so easy to get there in my hand luggage.
I find that the products last for a long time (well, mine do, they are in France as I said - but I do travel there 4 -5 times a year and use the colours everyday while I am there). The products actually last a longer than you should use make-up for from a hygiene point of view.... but hey! Its mine and I am the only one to use it, so it's just my germs multiplying!
They have fantastic wearability, the effects last a long time, the colours hold well and they are very easy to apply, although I do tend to use my larger professional brushes instead of the smaller versions supplied with this.
Overall, I love this products. It is definitely well worth the £22.50 at full price and a complete bargain if you can get it cheaper now. I love it so much I want to get a second one.
****Virgin Vie Boudoir of Colour****
I don't usually like getting gifts like make up for Christmas as i much prefer to pick up stuff i like myself. Needless to say i was a little ungrateful when i got this but became pleasantly surprised when i needed something compact to use on a trip away from home.
The packaging for this is quite sturdy and it feels like there are magnetic strips closing it. It opens up into 3 parts, the middle one being the fattest as it has a smaller case with a mirror that comes out. My favourite thing about the packaging is that each of the make up sections are separate meaning you can change what you want to put in the middle case. Each bit is made of foam(with either one or 2 bits of make up in the middlle)so i don't have any worries about the eye shadow or whatever getting ruined.
This contains eye shadows-There are 10 different colours, grouped together in twos. Without going into every shade i will just say that most of them are really nice -it has colours from white to dark brown..Once applied they last a decent amount of time,i have started wearing them to work and they last the whole of my shift(8 hours). Some of the shades are quite glittery so they would work on a night out.
Lip glosses-There are 8 of these, again in several colours. I don't tend to use these as i always have lip gloss with me.
There is also a section called special effects and this contains 2 high lighters,2 blushers and a translucent shimmer powder. Again i was happy with the results, they suited my skin tone, didn't feel that heavy and lasted the day.
One disappointing thing was that there were no brushes with the kit,the set as a whole had room for small brushes but the wee travel case didn't so chances are when i put this in my bag i end up not being able to find a brush and having to apply it with my fingers.
Having looked online i have found this costs £22.50 from the virgin vie website and i have seen it on ebay for around £10. I think this is a good price as the eye shadows last a good amount of time and i have been told virgin vie is a good brand. I have also found it agrees with my skin unlike other brands that bring out my psorais and eczema.
A fantastic make-up set that allows you to mix & match /
