Advantages: Good quality packaging

Disadvantages: Doesn't create dream lashes.

I get invited to a few Virgin Vie nights and I'm a sucker when it comes to anything that will enhance my look but more importantly feel slightly obliged to buy something as the hostess gets a gift dependant upon what is purchased on the night.

~ Price and Availability ~

This doesn't come cheap at £10.50 but since it promised me the illusion of false eyelashes I succumbed!

~ Packaging ~

It is double ended so has a white handle on one hand that unscrews and a black one on the other which also unscrews.
These two handles are separated by a thick silver middle band with the familiar 'V' symbol in the centre.

It looks and feels really good quality and has the added advantage of being colour coded so you know which end is which.

~ What do Virgin vie say about the product? ~

- This mascara will create a false lash illusion, extend your lashes beyond your wildest dreams.
- Use this for a longer, thicker, glamorous flutter.
- The white lash builder contains filaments that attach to your lashes making them appear longer.
- Specially designed brushes to thicken and lengthen your lashes.

~ My experience ~

The handles are just the right length and thickness to easily manipulate and apply the two layers.

The idea is that you coat your lashes from the root to the tip with the white lash builder and after leaving this to dry for a minute or so, you then apply the black mascara.

Easy.....................Not So!

Yes the application process sounds easy but the actual end result isn't great and certainly doesn't extend my lashes 'beyond my wildest dreams'!

I have found that the white lash builder clags a little and separates my lashes too much so that if anything they look sparser than usual.

I persevered thinking that once the black mascara was applied this would give me my false eyelash look, to steal a phrase from Virgin Vie.......Not in my 'wildest dreams!'

It must be said that I'm not the greatest make-up artist but mascara is perhaps one of the easiest things to apply.

When I put the black layer on top of the white, I didn't manage to cover all of the white on my lashes with just one application, in particular the sections closest to my eyelid, which is a tad annoying when the taxi is due in 5 minutes. And once the white is covered after two applications of the mascara it looks too heavy and claggy.

Overall, I'm not impressed by this V.V product which is rare for me as I usually rave on about a lot of their cosmetic range.
It's pricey and doesn't do the job it is intended to do on my lashes but for some it may well work.

Summary: A disappointing mascara in this usually good cosmetic range.
