Advantages: Dual wand for primer and colour

Disadvantages: None

Dream Lashes masacara is from the Virgin at Home collection (formely Virgin Vie) and is available online at www.vieathome.com or in-store.

It is available in a 12ml size in brown and black and retails at £12.

However, there are often codes available online to enable you to get it for free, simply for the cost of P&P (£2.50).

These were recently featured on Money Saving Expert (August) and also Prima magazine so have a look about online if you intend to purchase.

The mascara is in a long tube, around 15cm and looks expensively packaged.

It is a dual wanded mascara with a pearlised pink side and a dark coloured end, with the wands coming out of the middle section.

To get the most from this mascara, or any mascara, you need to start off with curling your eyelashes, using metal curlers or heated eyelash curlers.

It's also helpful to put a little loose facial powder underneath each eye to avoid smudges to your skin.

Then you use the pearlised pink side of Dream Lashes first. This is the primer that conditions, lenghtens and volumises your lashes. It is easy to apply and goes on without any issue.

Use the intergated wand to apply this in a zig zag fashion, making sure you give each lash coverage, then leave to dry for a couple of mins while you get on with something else.

It looks a little stange as it dries light pink/white - so whatever you do do not forget to apply the dark colour (either brown or black on top!).

Once dry, apply two coats of the other side of the wand (the dark side - I tried the brown and was very pleased with the coverage and intensity of the colour) leaving drying time in between to avoid the spidery look.

I really liked this mascara and will use it again rather than my traditional Rimmel. My lashes look long and feel silky, its easy to use and looks expensively posh in my make-up bag.

It enhances my eyes and make them look bigger, without the dreaded clumping and spidery look.

You do not need to reapply during the day as it gives good coverage and I found that it did not flake like some.

Also its very easy to get it off at night time.

I use baby wipes and this seems to be sufficient to remove the dreggs without excessive force.

The only thing I have found is that I'm not used to the dual approach and so have once or twice forgotten to go back and apply the dark mascara on top of the primer, leaving me looking a little casper-the-ghost like.

Also, its worth remebering that every beauty magazine tells us never to pump the mascara wand in and out of the mascara bottle as it dries out the mascara and also apparently introduces germs into the container and that we should refresh our mascara every 3-6 months.

Overall a great mascara, highly recommended and will happily use again.

Summary: Highly recommended
