“ Brand: Virgin Vie / Type: Lipgloss / Suitable for: Lip „
I first bought Pure Shine Lip Gloss in 2005 and have continued to purchase this as it is one of the best quality lip glosses I've found in its price range. I first become acquainted with this brand at a friend's hostess party five years ago. Since then I have been a regular user of Virgin Vie, or Vie at Home, products. I should highlight that I did once work as a Vie Consultant for a couple of months at one stage, but no longer do this and haven't done for a couple of years. I don't have any relationship with this company anymore and use their products solely on a personal, private capacity. Pure Shine lipgloss comes in an 8ml tube with an applicator wand. The packaging is simple, stylish and typical of the Vie at Home range. The gloss is easy to apply and glides on evenly. This is aided by a soft, large, slanted applicator tip. When first applied, the gloss feels silky, a little sticky and a little thick. After a couple of minutes (and probably a bit of rubbing your lips together) it feels quite light and the stickiness feels more gentle - a little tacky. It gives the lips a smooth feeling. Because of the general nature of all lip glosses, that being they are a gloss and therefore slippery, this isn't incredibly long lasting. The length of time it will stay on your lips depends on what you do whilst you're wearing it - e.g. drinking, eating, kissing, how much you rub your lips together etc. I've found that the gloss stays very glossy for a good couple of hours after application if you don't make contact with anything on your lips. If I apply it and have a cup of tea, I will find a gloss stain on my mug, but there will still be gloss on my lips, and the appearance will be more of a gentle sheen than a full-on gloss. I've also found that the gloss stays longer if applied over lip-liner or a matte lipstick. Pure Shine is available in a variety of shades - as at 26 September 09 the Vie at Home website shows six shades available: Angel Touch; Champagne Sparkle; Chocca Mocha; Crystal Waters; Moulin Rouge; and Opal Dream. My favourite shade is Opal Dream, and is the shade I would recommend to most people. In its packaging, Opal Dream looks like a mid-dusky pink. The gloss has a pearlised sheen which gives a gentle glistening effect. When applied, the shade on your lips will depend on how thickly you apply and also the colour tone of your lips. My lips have quite a deep purplish pink tone, and when I apply two coats of this shade it looks very natural on me, adding a bit more depth than a clear gloss. When I've applied it on people with lighter lips than mine, it gives quite a gentle, translucent, natural-looking dusky pink tone. If you like more depth to your lip colour, I recommend using a lip-liner underneath. Using a nude lip-liner gives the gloss a much thicker, deeper appearance. I used this tactic when applying a friend's bridal make-up. The result was soft and natural, but certainly gave more impact than if the gloss had been used on its own. I'd certainly recommend this for bridal make-up. Opal Dream seems to suit a lot of skin tones - many of my friends also use this shade. There are a couple of downsides to the gloss. When you get near to the end of the gloss, it's quite hard to get out the final remains because the wand doesn't seem to go to the end of the tube. It also seems to be getting harder to get hold of Vie at Home products as their number of retail stores has fallen in recent years. I will also highlight that Vie at Home seem to have considerably changed a lot of their skin, make-up and body care ranges over the past couple of years. A lot of old favourites are no longer available, and the new stuff doesn't seem to be as good quality or value for money. Thankfully Pure Shine lipgloss hasn't been discontinued, so fingers crossed that they don't replace this in the near future. This product is available from Vie at Home and can be purchased in a number of ways" via their website, at a hostess party (like an Ann Summers party format), direct from a Vie consultant, or in one of their stores. As at 26 September 2009, the price advertised on the website is 11GBP (plus p&p where applicable). Sometimes Vie have special offers on, so its worth looking out to see if it is included in any offer.
I bought Virgin Vie Pure Shine Lip Gloss at a Virgin Vie party and it has lived up to my high expectations. I tend to use it when I am going to a special event on top of my normal liptstick. I find it always makes me feel special and I love the shine. It is true that it can be sticky - and if you kiss someone while wearing it - there will be some transfer. It can be pricey, I have found though that it last ages. Since we all know that we end up eating/tasting our liptstick - its good to know it tastes okay too! I personally would recommend this as the finishing touch to your make up for a glam night out. If you need a boost and want to get back in touch with you fun loving, feminine side then this lip glass is the one for you!
Virgin Vie Pure Shine Lip Gloss Virgin Vie is part of the well known Virgin company and sells cosmetics and beauty product, the brand has been established now for many years. In addition to having stores Virgin Vie also have consultants that do cosmetic/beauty parties in your own home ( a bit like an anne summers party only with make up) I have been advised also that Vigin Vie cosmatics are now available in larger department store although I have not come across any. The gloss ia available in a variety of lovley colours and there should be one to suit most people. The packaging is basically a small see through tube and a black lid with a built in applicator. It is simple but looks good. The gloss costs approx £8 which I find good value as it lasts for ages. I liked the texture of the gloss and found it a lot less sticky than other brands I have tried. The applicator was good and allowed me to apply the gloss nice and evenly. It lasts for a few hours at a time and is great to use on ots own or indeed on top of lipstick. The most important thing is the gloss looks great. It provides a lovley shiny colour
Add pure colour and super-gloss to your lips / Wear alone for a natural sheen or on top of your favourite lipstick, for a perfect pout!
