On a recent stroll around Boyes I noticed these little W7 eyeshadow pots selling for £1.49. I've used some bits from W7 before and found alot of their items to be good quality so I immediately started browsing the colours for one I liked. There were a variety of different colours available but I didn't take alot of notice exactly what they were because my partner was trying to hurry me along! I was hovering around the browns section though as I'm a redhead.

The one that really caught my eye was called "Burnt Plum" which is a sparkly bronze kind of colour with just the merest hint of a plum tint to it so I thought that would suit my green eyes perfectly.

The pots are a good size, about the diameter of a golf ball but obviously flat. The lid has a window so you can see inside and the lid just opens and closes using a simple clasp. There is no applicator with these eyeshadows which I don't mind because I use a brush anyway.

One thing I wasn't sure about was how sparkly these are, I don't like drag queen style make up and I wondered if once applied this would look garish. However it didn't put me off buying one and the following day I decided to give it a try.

The eyeshadow is a nice soft texture which means it's easy to get onto the brush and onto your eyes. I started by using just a small amount and building up which works well as a small amout can look quite subtle but using more can build the colour up to dramatic. The sparkliness actually turns into a shimmer once you apply this so there's no nasty chunks of glitter sitting around to make you look odd! The eyeshadow blends easily with a large brush and the lovely shimmery effect makes eyes really stand out.

I found this eyeshadow stays put for the entire day with no sign of creasing, I hate creasing, and no smudging as long as you don't touch your eyes alot. It easily managed to stay on through my exercise session where I got quite hot and through my normal daily activities which is a must for me as I just can't be bothered to keep retouching my make up.

When it came to time to remove this eyeshadow I just took it off with baby lotion like I usually do. It removed easily and surprisingly for a shimmery eyeshadow didn't leave any glittery particles behind in the eyelash line so it came off quickly and without any fuss.

Overall I'm very pleased with this eyeshadow, there's plenty in there so it will last me ages, it looks lovely when on and doesn't budge until you're ready to remove it and it comes off simply and easily. What more can you ask for for £1.49?

I noticed there were plenty of different shades of brown, bronze and gold so alot of summer options there for those of you who tan and I'm sure there were some greys too but as I said before I was being hurried along so didn't notice them all! These pots seem to be available in a couple of places online for about the same price but Boyes is where I'd head to buy another as you don't want to ruin the bargain by paying postage!

Highly recommended and I can't find fault with them!
