“ Brand: W7 / Type: Eyeliners / Suitable for: Eye „
I'd never used any W7 products before but a friend recently bought me the Sparkle eye liner in No 6 Jade which is a beautiful mix between green and blue, the W7 pots are smaller than the Collection 200 glitter eye liners but are more convenient for your handbag.
There are 6 colours in total and the average price is around £2.99 which is not bad at all.
The applicator brush is quite thick so you only get one size line, other glitter eye liners I have tried have a thin brush so you can build it up if you want a dramatic effect, I find with the W7 eye liner you can only go for the dramatic look.
One thing that I love about this eye liner is that it does not go watery like the collection 2000 liner and you get a very good amount of glitter with each application. I would like to try the other colours in the collection but if you have never tried a glitter eye liner before I would suggest you don't start with W7 as you may be put off!
I first saw this in my local Peacocks at the till with some glitter in a tube and some eyeshadows by the same brand, however I was in a rush and didn't bother looking too hard at it. I adore glitter, yes it does remind me of my teens and using the glitter you could buy in pots from Partners on my eyes (the thought of it makes me shudder now, think of the damage!), but I still love it so much for a night out, or even a regular day when I need a bit of sparkle in my life.
So when I later spotted these eyeliners in Boyes I had to pick some up. I only paid 99p for each of them, and bought one before losing it several months later and going back for three more, black, gold and turqouise. I honestly wasn't expecting much from them as they were so cheap but even just a little extra sparkle makes me happy and I had a night out coming up that I knew the turqouise would be perfect for as it matched my skirt.
What The Product Looks Like:
It's a small clear plastic bottle which clearly shows off the colours of each eyeliner, and comes with a thin black lid that houses the brush applicator. The brush isn't too thick and just right for building up the thickness of the line you want.
Using The Product:
It really is very easy to use, you unscrew the lid, apply gently to where you want it, usually lining the eyelid in the traditional way you'd use a liquid eyeliner and sometimes on the lower lash line or in the corners. I don't have the steadiest hands on the planet and when I try to do one smooth line it inevitably ends up reaching my eyebrow so I make small gentle strokes to get the lines as straight and neat as possible.
There's quite a bit of glitter in the eyeliner, a lot if you consider what I paid for it (I think they are more expensive in general however), but two coats give the best coverage result. It doesn't dry too fast (probably around 4-5 mins) so I leave the application of this until last.
I've been using these for around a year now, and they last all night in a club while sweating and dancing in the summer time - the eyeshadow very often doesn't but I still have a lovely line of glitter. I also wear them in the day with very neutral eyeshadow rather than the bright colours I love to pair with the glitter on a night out and always get complimented on them.
The black one looks best on top of black eyeliner as the black colour is a bit watery for a bold black line, the gold is more sutble and brill for daytime wear, whereas the turqouise is dramatic and gorgeous on a night out.
I think they only do a few more colours that don't really appeal to me, and I have recently tried out the Collection 2000 Dazzle Glitter Eyeliner that is raved about on here which is under £3, same as these are full price. I wouldn't hesitate to pay the 99p for these again, but if you only see them at full price then I'd tell you to go with the Collection 2000 simply because the glitter has more dimension, although there's no difference in the amount of glitter the liners contain, and they come in a better range of colours compared to the handful W7 offer. You also get more in the Collection 2000 tube as well.
For 99p I'd give it five stars, for the same price as the Collection 2000 however I'd give it four as the other brand has the edge on this one.
Great for an evening out on the town!
