Advantages: None that I can think of
Disadvantages: See above!
It promises to leave skin flawless and matte, to be long lasting and to blend easily. Sounds good, eh? Well, as with so many things, the blurb on the tube is the best thing about this product. It may as well be called "I am a big stinking liar of a foundation that will make you look hideous" - although this marketing technique, whilst more truthful, would probably not sell millions! It felt greasy to put on, despite the fact that it is meant to make your face shine free. It also felt sticky once it was blended in. If you've ever worn one of those facemasks that don't actually dry out, it was like wearing one of those! Hardly ideal for something that's going to be sitting on your face all day. I found this foundation settled into every line on my face. Now, I'm 26 so I don?t have all that many lines just yet, but this made me look like I was wearing stage make-up in order to look 20 years older! I tried putting some face powder on top, but it sort of squidged in to the residue of foundation and made everything worse. Nope, it all had to come off. I scrubbed my face and started again - not using the Yardley foundation this time! I don?t know anyone who wants to look much older than they are, unless it's very young teens trying to get into an 18 certificate film, or 20-something actors about to play pensioners in a theatrical production. If you fit into either of these categories, then good luck to you, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anyone else.

- 11/01/01 I have to say it, I would never recommend a Yardley product to anyone. They used to do a mascara that was OK, and the No Smudge Eye Definer was probably the only good product they ever made. Some of it was OK, but there are so many make up companies with a similar price range whose products are so much better - it it any wonder Yardley was discontinued? It may not be true, but I heard that they had been "reinvented" as a company called Margret Astor. You would never know though, Margret Astor is miles better than Yardley ever was! |

- 08/10/00 I've used this & found it 'OK' - nothing special certainly, but not *bad*. I wonder if you had a product that could've gone 'off'. I believe Yardley's been discontinued now - and there is a *lot* of their old stock about |
