I have only quite recently started using YSL products after having them forced down my throat from a very loyal YSL-er in the form of my friend Sarah, but have been very pleased with the results of this mascara! I was given this YSL Mascara 2 weeks ago for my birthday. WOW - What's not to love about this!!! (apart from the price but I'll come to that later). Due to budgetry constraints my previous mazzy was L'Oreal "Lash Clog" - what can I say it was on offer and as it's good enough for Eva Longoria, I thought "What better endorsement can there be?!" Those of you who have read my previous reviews will know I am a big fan of YSL products. I think that although pricy, they are usually worth the money. This mascara is no exception and is fast becoming an essential make-up bag item along with Touch Eclat. My eyes are sometimes sensitive to new products and as this mascara is marketed as "water-resistant and suitable for sensitive eyes & contact lens wearers" I thought that was a good reason to buy it. YSL Faux Cils mascara is widely available from cosmetics counters in department stores and Boots. I bought my first tube as a teenager in the duty free shop on the way to France and was instantly impressed. Back then it cost about £17 though now it is around the £20 MARK. I guess that is not a massive increase in around ten years so pretty good really. It looked the same then as it does now, and I have bought a few tubes over the last few years, although I stopped when I discovered Estee Lauder's Magnascopic as there is just no contest - Estee wins every time (see separate review). In my younger years I never stuck to any particular sort of mascara. I would go to Boots and pick up whichever mid priced mascara was promising to lengthen my lashes the most. However, the truth of the matter is I was always disappointed. The effects were never the same as on the adverts. It isn't until recently that I noticed the small print on the bottom saying 'filmed with lash inserts'.
