Boots Maternity Pads
Advantages: Thick, highly absorbant, cheap, soft material, comfortable, cushioned
Disadvantages: only 10 in a pack
After suffereing a traumatic birth and an even more horrendous experience after birth I needed some heavy duty maternity pads and these ones did the job considerably but at the cheapest price.
It is very easy to get conned out of money when you are buying necessaity items for your post birth term with high tec pads and gadgets in specified baby stores however none of this is needed when there is a simple yet incredibly strong and adequate maternity pad at boots.
The pack of 10 pads costs 99p and albeit you may be going through them quickly they really are worth it and these are the best I found. They are soft and incredibly flexible so can contort into any underware or maternity garment that you may be using at the time, even if you are tight elastene wear after a cesarean.
They are designed to use only for after birth not for general monthly periods as they are far thicker than normal sanitary pads and are made to maintain a heavier allowance of fluid. When I state they are heavy and large though compared to the post natal units pads they are like a panty liner in comparison.
My post birth pads at the hospital were quite uncomfortable, enormous and almost scratchy material. In fact they didnt even absorb quite as much as the boots ones alone and hence my husband bought these pads in from boots in preference to the hospitals own. The boots pads are much lighter nad therefore much more comfortable and you will forget you are wearing them for the majority of the time.
They are cushioned and so can help ease pain if you have suffered an episiotomy or any tearing during labour and because being so soft they wont irritate the wound at all.
An excellent and cheap all rounder maternity pad and a must for any post birth mother in those crucial post birth weeks.
Summary: The cheapest highly efficient maternity pad
